Uno is at home, I don't have an suitable front axel.
I have a set of dura-ace track wheels with the 8mm rear axel.
But my front is too thick.
any idea where to source one (or just break out the grinder?)

pitboss 06-01-06 10:22 AM

that is odd...check with Ichiban (on myspace - aka strattond on eBay). I think chicagoamdream and I had this very same conversation, but in relation to Suntour hubs and I showed him using one of Marcus' that it would fit. But the DA problem you are having is nothing I have ever heard of. Of course, it sucks.
Perhaps this is worthy of its own discussion via a thread - I am sure it has happened to someone else. they might know more.
I know Promax hubs have the "slotted" axle variation too in the front as mine are of this style.

file that axle!

Just the sexy parts y'all like so much 'round here: cable guides, derailer hangers, front brakes, etc.

The first pic the cage is attached via bolts and the built in threadserts. My summer set up.
In the 2nd pic I attached a 2nd cage using double sticky tape and tie wraps, I did this to hold my light battery. I use both cages in the winter.
But for some reason I didn't also have the brewski cage on at the same time (probably had swapped it to my other bike at the time)

Remember when you were the first on the block w/ a nice Japanese frame?

Now it seems like there's more Japanese frames than chrome Pistas out there.

Eh, only once place to go...

Custom!

hyperRevue 06-01-06 08:28 PM

He's giving the Bomber Pro to me, so he'll have room for a custom.

nope - I was not built to quit.
We're not the first, but I hope we're not the last...

kennethalan 06-01-06 10:13 PM

I went custom strictly due to the fact that [165] has a japanese frame.

Nice try but Heja Sverige is the proper swedish phrase.

I make all my decisions based on the opinions of strangers on the internet. I haven't had to think for myself in years! It's great. Think of all the brain cells I'm saving.

Here's my dirt whip.
I had parts sitting around for years and just put it together. it's super fun with gears.
I don't have any experience riding fixed off road... i'd like to try it, but i think gears/freewheel offroad might make it a little easier to roll over logs and adjust pedal position in tight spots. is fixed mountain biking all that fun?

How I see my bikes.
4/6ths of them are single speed.
