Ceya...did the cranks go BiBi?

el twe 10-10-06 04:28 PM

Is that a 20" Aeroheat on the folder?

guerillaidiom 10-10-06 04:28 PM

That's one of my goals for the next year or so.

Columbus ZONA OS everything but the headtube which is True Temper OX Plat.
Long Shen lugs, BB shell, fork tips
Paragon dropouts
Henry James fork crown

Components are almost all off the last bike I posted in here.

Gipiemme hubs on CXP14's
Miche Cranks on a Phil BB
Campy C-Record post/headset/pedals
Brooks Swift
Sakae stem
42cm Nitto B123's
Izumi "green" chain

Better pictures to come, these are just the shots I took with my cheap camera while the real photographer was working.

Jacob, I have one of your shirts hanging in my closet from having been thrown onto my head at the NACCC award ceremony. Why beefy Ts?!

jacobs 10-11-06 08:58 AM

Beefy T's is just what the printer used. Didn't have much of a say in the matter for the price. What would you prefer?

and thanks for all the kind words! The pics my friend took should be much less blurry and strange colored.

killsurfcity 10-11-06 10:26 AM

which size 20in rims are those? 451 mm or 406 mm? and what kind of tires are those?

bcoppola 10-11-06 12:01 PM

A 50+er's first foray into fixed gear. Began as a thrift shop Schwinn World Tour.

did you sell them at ttown or do you still have them?

ryand 10-11-06 12:39 PM

finishing up a nakamichi conversion for my girlfriend's brother. i still have to find a brake with proper reach, find out what kind of bars he wants, wrap the bars(or put grips on if he says risers), and adjust the brake. some of the pictures have a deep v in the rear, thats because i wanted to ride it, didn't want to use a freewheel brakeless, and couldn't find my lockring tool.

ryand put a second brake on that thing or i'm gonna punch you in the face.

ryand 10-11-06 12:44 PM

he already took his rear brake off, so i am without lever right now. i think he should have two brakes as well. we'll see what can be dug up at chain reaction.

Rear: 32H Velocity Aeroheat-V 406 laced 2-cross to Surly New fixed/free Road hub (130mm OLD respaced to Swift 132mm/47mm chainline)
Front: 38H stock cheapo 406 (to be replaced as soon as Santa drops some cash down the chimney)
Tires: Greenspeed Scorcher TR (kevlar) 20x1.50 slicks (designed primarily for trikes and 'bents)

A lot of other fixed Swifts I see are running the taller/skinnier 451 rims. I prefer the 406 for smaller fold and greater tire/tube availability (including BMX tires ).
