Took apart the Makino for the trade and threw this one together. Same wheelset and cranks, but Kashimax saddle, nitto seat post, nitto stem (NJS this time), and wider 123s that I'd like to switch out to the smaller ones.

He he he...wait'll you see my new build mate. I've told no one. But it involves a ton of carbon goodies, all in raw matte black (weave). Don't buy into the hype over carbon wheels...they can be strong as **** in most circumstances. I like it...must get a Kenevan's one day.

Life should be fun. Have at it balls out, I say.

Ben, looks sick. I knew it would. Way better with the white wheels than the red.

Most carbon wheels are fine, it's that particular wheel that has a well documented catastrophic failure mode. I'm sure ronex knows this and will be careful, just don't let that wheel get too hot, and check them for cracks often.

Is joining the bike-of-the-day club the thing to do when visiting Japan?

Don't get to excited...the deal on the pink bike fell through an unexpected hole in my life.

In other news...I have another 97% carbon fibre bike that's almost done, just waiting on tires (carbon aero seatpost just came in--thank you priority mail!).

I shall not weep over my inability to consume vast amounts of material goods. Just had a death in the family. Some things are precedent.

-'Dipper out:)

Thanks 165. Best mail surprise in a long time. You're in the running for back-to-back 'BF Nice Guy' awards - though I'm curious to read the 165 v Sacha White thread... anyone?

Gonz was blown away by it - and thought the bell was cool too ;)

Safety first!

God I love that Adam White character---always on the up!

Igneous Faction 01-31-07 05:01 PM

My girlfriend almost dumped me for that Colnago at the TTown swap.

I would have understood.

I actually have no idea. The seller threw in the stem, bars, seat post, and saddle for a little extra. Can't seem to find any numbers that look like they indicate degrees on the stem.
