Such a great job. I was into this bike before, but not nearly as much as i am now. It was MY turn recently to cross market st. and check out your bike... remember my lotus? i regret selling it now... again, sweet build.

A little change of pace here, but I picked this up a while ago, no idea on how old it is, all I know is it's pretty damned old and a fixie. I've been going slow with the restoration due to grad and all that, but now I have some more time on my hands to get going on it.

When I first found it it was in sad shape:

I tore it all down and found out the original color was green, so I decided the most fitting color for a repaint would be John Deere green with yellow rims, so far I've only painted the bars and fork but I blasted the wheels and seat stays today so they'll be painted by the weekend, then it's just on to making new pedals, painting the frame and figuring out how to mount the front tyre back on.

The fork was also cracked, so I had to braze it up. And see that tapered steel bushing? thats the headset...

Looks pretty sweet. Don't know about the orange tho. Throw it up on the photos thread and show drive side.

ryanday 06-01-07 06:53 AM

Damn, dude, do you actually ride that thing, or just show it off?

threeoneseven 06-01-07 07:00 AM

what tires are those? i've been looking for a decent all orange set for a while.

Serendipper 06-01-07 07:01 AM

That's neat...what Dr. Suess would have rode.

What are you using to attach the road morph holder to your top tube?

I went to FSU so I'm contractually obligated to hate it. I'm also a bike nerd so I have to hate the platform/brakeless combo too.

It looks like the included zip ties. When I bought mine it came with ties.

I'm not all that sure of toeclips or clipless. I learned my skids with 'em. Maybe I will use a pair down the road. I'm not even sure who makes these. It came with my TREK.

riding on regular cage pedals without straps or a brake is even more moronic then riding on platforms though so really you both lose.
