Wondered when that Moyer would show up, after seeing it in some NAHBS coverage on Flickr. Killer.

sashae 06-03-07 09:24 AM

Chopped Soma Noah's Arcs in the last photo? Great looking bike.

NNNN 06-03-07 09:53 AM

Hey! My dad's name is kenneth alan! well, alan is his middle name...

I have that cinelli stem too - same degree drop and probably the same length (8.5cm?). those must be b123's in it, cause i cant fit my b125's in around the curve. what did you use to shim it? i got a seatpost shim that went exactly from 25.4 to 26.4 but that didnt work at all, so I just used a cut up beer can. anyway sweet ride! watch out for cars. and other bikes. and pedestrians, and thieves, and potholes. and be careful locking it up to anything. you might just want to laminate the whole thing as a precaution....

jacobpriest 06-03-07 10:43 AM

Kenneth Alan-
you moved to DFW? we oughta ride sometime!

kennethalan 06-03-07 04:39 PM

Yes, I'm in D/FW now. Work in Dallas. Live in Fort Worth. I can't ride much right now. I broke foot while running out a wheelie. *idiot* We'll ride soon. I am tempted to pull the trigger on the concept frameset you are selling on craigslist.

I didn't have to shim the stem for those bars. I guess I got lucky.

Those are chopped Noah's Arc bars in the last photo. I love them.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys.

I now have a raging *****

auk 06-03-07 07:19 PM

That Moyer pulls at so many hot spots. Beautiful bike, simply stunning.

How much did you chop them, like 2" per side? 3"? I've been running mine regular with a really tiny gear for smooth sailing, it's pretty fun actually. Bars feel like a tiller.

I'm a big fan of the combo with the Cinelli stem as well... somehow it's just "right."

I love that schwinn so much. Same stem and the lugs inspired my lugset. It was nice to meet you at NAHBS.

I cut right around 2 1/2 inches off both ends. It put them right at a perfect shoulder width when my hands are near the end of the bar. They are slightly angled upwards like your's as well. So comfy. If only they didn't have Soma's awful godsmack-ish logo on them. The logo is now coverd by a bell so everyone wins.

chase. 06-03-07 08:40 PM

soma's logo is so godsmack— i knew it looked familiar.

andre nickatina 06-03-07 08:45 PM

after seeing those two bikes, i think this thread can end now. no more need to fulfill my need for seeing the perfect track bike anymore, it's happened twice over.

sashae 06-03-07 09:00 PM

Ya know, I hate the logo too, but this is one time I don't mind having it on there.

sashae wholeheartedly endorses soma noah's arc bars.

(great meeting you at nahbs as well -- i have whitney's poster up in my office at work...)

Sakae Custom 06-03-07 09:05 PM

The Moyer is beautiful, except for the stem, looks out of place, especially when teamed up with a thomson seatpost and sugino 75 cranks, that stem belongs on a bike with fluted cranks, and at least a more classic styled seatpost.

kennethalan 06-03-07 09:09 PM

Your mom belongs on a bike with fluted cranks and a more classic styled seatpost.
;)

auk 06-03-07 09:23 PM

The Soma logo is very easy to remove. Just a bit of acetone and a rag will make very short work of it.

Avian 06-03-07 09:24 PM

Those tires are too red... P-shop to match the toestraps?

kennethalan 06-03-07 09:28 PM

Thanks, auk. Consider them gone.

No.
