Hey man,
Did you clear coat it yourself? If so hows it holding up?
I have access to a sandblaster and have been thinking about doing this to my Mark V.
Looks great!

I did that to an S&M frame once. It held up for a good while. Then it started to slowy get these little "veins" of rust. Little lines i mean that looked like blood vessels of rust. It spread and spread till it looks kinda ass. :(
I heard car wheel clear coat is more durable than others.

SeanBonham 09-04-07 08:24 AM

You think if I got a nice layer of cleat coat on it that would happen? I know if I left it raw it would oxidize quite fast.
word

deathhare 09-04-07 08:27 AM

From all ive heard itll happen.
I think the problem is that clear coat doesnt stick to bare metal well and that it lays down very thin.
The only fail safe i think is to get it clear powdercoated. Thatll stick, apparently

This is as bland as it gets, but it surely is a nice ride for ~$330 (105brake + nashbar bullhorns + nashbarn TT lever - all on sale)

Now the stem is simply too ugly, i need to replace it, any suggestions?

Love it, but I would go with a diff. saddle if I were you, especially considering you got such a good deal on the whole thing. Congrats!

cc700 09-04-07 02:44 PM

nitto stem!

JellyMeetsJam 09-04-07 04:07 PM

Looks Like Cannondale Listened The Grumblers!

I picked up the C'dale Capo, but it had a tiny dent in the top tube so they sent me an '08 frame in red. It is not on their site yet so I thought I would show mine. Apparently they toned down the mafia reference tagging thing to an old school paint job with simple lettering after all the complaints people made. It would also have a red fork with a small white stripe at the top, but since mine was a frame not a fork replacement, I had to keep the black. Everything is stock so far, but I will remedy that with every dime I save cause the components are bottom of the barrel. http://<a href="http://img65.imagesh...7034fo5.th.jpg[/IMG]

Pretty much sums it up. Beautiful Pogliaghi. Damn lucky kid.

Its a bumpy ride and still need to get dialed (bars were low from going to a velodrome) in but it's pretty cool so far

Holding up pretty nice, being that I coated it three times and left it out in the blistering heat for two days. I'll spray some water on the frame and see what happens.

14. ;)

On the far left is a Saronni (colnago). That's my pink bike in the background next to Turbo's Soren son, and another TSX classic.

He means that he runs a smaller gear on the other side of the hub, for street riding.

For example, you may ride 49/13 on track track, but not need something as aggressive for street riding, so you could up the "flip-side" cog to a 16t to get fewer gear inches.

Does this mean he runs a fixed cog on the freewheel side, or does it have a thread for a lockring on both sides of the hub? If they make hubs like that, I've never seen one. I also think it would be pretty sketchy to just tighten down a cog on the freewheel side and pray that *****e doesn't come off. Is that true?

How often are people skidding/skipping/backpedaling when riding at the track?

Yeah they make fixed/fixed hubs.
