the chainring adjustment deal he worked out was really cool, and worked well too:

sorry for that digression! no more non-bike pics from me in the bike-pics thread!

Four.Hundred.Bucks.

Those bags are definitely Nihonipster chic, but I wasn't about to drop many hundreds of bills on a bag that he told me isn't quite waterproof. I nearly sprung for a wallet but that was about two weeks after I got my Seagull wallet so I wasn't feeling like diversifying the portfolio.

you can really cut cables and housing with anything that is sharp enough, you know

and strong enough. i killed my electrician's wire cutters by using them on brake cables. i use a dremel now and it's such a huge hassle. that's why i want cable cutters.

Blais 09-01-07 09:03 PM

I like how the dremel doesn't squish the cable housing. Other than that, cable cutters rawk the house.

as to answer your question from my experience (i ride drops and am too poor to afford TTP) i have a bandana there acting as one BUT! it is also very useful to hold small stuff and tie it to your tube. For example a pack of **** and a light, or a cell phone, or anyhting that might be uncomfortable in your pocket.

hope that answers a bit.

cc700 09-01-07 11:30 PM

wipe sweat too(the intended purpose of a bandana)

but more for looks/paint protection. i also got some foam for a dollar that i'm thinking of fashioning a more permanent/fixed location tt pad out of.

Straws 09-02-07 12:28 AM

my bandanna is wrapped around my buckle on my chrome bag. It serves 3 purposes. Pads the metal of the buckle, keeps *******s from pushing the button, and I use it to wipe sweat. It's always with me.

im not at home so i cant measure, but i believe they are 42's.

cc700-- yea that does sound good but the closest one to me is 220 miles away in seattle :(

needed a commuter after the specialized p1 couldnt cut it over anything more than short distances.

picked this up at an auction for a fiver. spent the last few weeks fixing/upgrading/converting. its nice to ride, maybe a lil big for me.

I want your bar tape! Anyone know what brand this is? PS, I like the fork. Uniqueness is key.
