is there a functional reason for grooves in seatposts? or is it mainly aesthetic?

I meant good rats bike.. with the loved turbo saddle

everytime somebody says a bike or a bike part is "sexy" i hate it. it makes me think of some pimple-faced nerd whacking it spewing on his bike while getting busted by his dad (ala american pie). i wish that phrase trend would just die off. carry on.

I find the Cinelli on the last page sexually attractive and have a strong desire to have sexual intercourse with it's bottom bracket shell.

So long as the saddle supports the sit-bones and doesn't create overdue friction on the inner-legs and is not too light, the saddle is good. It seems to me that these slits could contribute to weight reduction.

Stripping the frame... how could I remove the shifter bosses? or is there an after market product I could bolt on there like a bottle opener of something. I'm paranoid because there sharp and I had a gyro tab slice my knee in the bmx days. |

that looks like a nice frame, don't ruin it by taking off all the braze-ons.

They aren't all ss/fg. But they are all rad.http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3182/...2f9cb4f1_b.jpg
From the left, the first is my friend's Univega conversion. Then there's his roomie's Trek roadbike, a sandwich delivery bike, a MTB beater, my fg touring rig, a friend's randonneuring bike, and my buddy's trailworthy conversion. |

take an acetylene torch to it to remove the brazing. should come right off.
though that looks like a nice frame. it would be shame to modify it permanently, but hey, it's yours. just screw something on to it. i've seen a baby doll arm once. totally creepy. |
