It's a Casati, if memory serves correctly. Sell the frame on eBay (you were smart to put the tape all over it, saving the paint) and with the funds from the sale, get a true track frame. Those aerospokes belong on something with track lines, you'll love a track frame once you try it out.

Man, it doesn't matter if that thing is a Cinelli. That is the ultimate scraper bike. I'm sure he's having a ton of fun riding that thing around.

o well. i ride a bike and like my bikes whether they are ugly or not. isn't that the way bikes should be? or is it looks then ride? of course to some it is that way. im not offended by what you say and respect your opinion but i ride a bike while caring about how it looks but i think riding it is most important wouldn't you say?

you don't lock up anything that looks nice in nyc. hell, i'm surprised that he doesn't have a chain to his brooks too. i feel like the northeast climate makes bikes pretty nasty anyways, compared to say the dry climate of texas. not that people don't have nice bikes, but most people i know have at least one crappy looking/standard bike for locking up and ****ty weather. frankly all my bikes look ugly and used (aside from the road bike..) and thats how i prefer them to be.

it straight blows that you guys have to lock your bikes up that securely in tha big city. how long would you leave a bike like that and feel comfortable, i'm talking locked like that.

sashae 06-06-07 11:24 AM

12 hours (daylight only) on a heavily trafficked street near a security guards' office.

It still gets ****ed with. Such is life.

Here's my latest. It's an Eddy Merck track bike that had been repainted and stickered up as a U. Scanini (Belgian bike co). I took the stickers off cos they looked horrible. It's got a mixture of mostly European parts on it at the moment - Goldtec/CXP33 rear wheel, Mavic Cosmic Elite front with pitlock, Campy Record Cranks and BB, TTT bars and stem, Flite + Selcof seatpost.

Rides like it was made to go fast

damn you lock the pinarello up for that long? whew. i don't think theft is bad here but i would get nervous having to lock my bike up that long.
i get away with a mini u that catches my seattube and my rear wheel...when i'm at work my bike is in my office with me.

I was wondering the same thing.

Also, are those two complete sets of aerospokes or do you just swtich the same set between bikes?

Not my favorite thing to do, but it's a choice between a: riding my bikes, or b: storing them in a closet.

I'm going to ride and take my chances. Parts are easier to replace than the frame, and if someone grinds down a pole to take it, well...

I'm trying to remain sanguine about the whole thing.
