The saddle is a nice touch on the Madison.

I'm always surprised by how much I like Mark V frames.

mearse 07-02-07 08:10 PM

I have been working on this bike for a while but I think it is finally set. I love riding it:

just picked up the saddle this morning by accident - i walked into an ebay store to put some fliers on their counter... this was sitting on the table as I walked in! $10 - the bike was $10 too...

The big ugly logo, of course. :D

Igneous Faction 07-02-07 10:57 PM

130 bcd, but 1/8" wide without being a rocket ring. Plus they're Sugino, and the name seems to sell well.

What is 130 bcd? What do these Chain Sizes refer to 1/2"~1/8"...inner width between side plates of the chain?

Igneous Faction 07-03-07 12:29 AM

It's the Bolt Circle Diameter, or the space between each of the bolts on the crank spider. Most track cranks have 144mm, most road has 130mm. (there are others, 110 for mountain/touring, 151 is an older track standard, 135mm is Miche and Campagnolo, etc...) Chains/chainrings come in two widths, 3/32 and 1/8 (and other narrower chains for 9/10 speed applications). Finding a 130mm BCD chainring that's 1/8" wide is tough.

The quality is great! Super straight and burly. Machine work is much better than a rocket ring. I live no where near a velodrome so this baby is staying on the streets. This is the reason I just went with a nice road double converted to one chainring.

i'd say that's probably a good idea.

shogun17 07-03-07 04:41 AM

I bet all these Keirin bikes cry at night. They scream 'use us for races', but we hear 'use us with risers'

Besides that, it looks awesome, and would look better with drops.

no way dude, they spent their salad days being smashed into eachother for the sake of making the rich richer. Now they are out to pasture and get to chill out and help us score with chicks.

I like to think of them as child stars who moved to a farm after their sordid careers.

br995 07-03-07 06:03 AM

How tall are you?

Yeah, they get old off because they've had enough time in the lime light.
