still waiting on some chrome mks toe clips. more pix here
if you're bored and have a dremel, you can do what I did and remove some material from the drop-outs so those mks tugs fit a little better. I used a 'sanding band' on the inside of the do's. it's like, DREMEL DAY!

I'm having that problem myself. Time to borrow a dremel!
I couldn't decide whether to dremel down the track ends or modify the tugs though.

I don't think there's enough material on the tug. I did my drop-outs before the frame was built so if it didn't work out, it was no big deal. plus it was a little easier. I'm amazed how slick it turned out. they fit together very nicely. the drop-outs are long enough that you won't miss the cm or so of adjustment you're giving up.

Indeed that's a good idea.. but i'd have a hard time modifying my favorite bike like that. Maybe if I modified the MKS tugs somehow. I had a dremel day on my other track bike's front fork.. Now it likes to play nice with the new set of tires I bought.

Thanks for all the compliments ya'll. Just got back from a nice ride on my other bike the khs. Went out over the manhattan bridge, then down to the brooklyn bridge and back home.

I thank you for posting the frank response regarding the "Japanese translation." Tomity deserves as much, he is good people. My Mother is Japanese (my Dad is Irish-go figure) and I too took offense to their narrow minded comments. Your actions demonstrate "honor" in any language.

Bikes: Windsor, Schwinn Le Tour, Schwinn Varsity

I picked up the Windsor not too long ago. I'd been a MTB guy for like 6 yrs before I moved from CT to Philly. I picked up that beat Schwinn and rebuilt it as a commuter when I got here, and just recently bought the Windsor. I'm new to fixed, but I really like the bike and the ride. The frame is the central element to the bargain price of the bike. So far, I've only opted for a set of horns, steal toe clips, and MKS chain tugs. I had to *chisel* away the paint on the inside of the dropouts to fit them, and with the bike being under a month old, I felt horrible about it. A new stem is on the way, and I'm planning to swap the crank and pedals soon. I'm really happy with it though. The yellow is sick, it's real vibrant.

Wait a minute, are those pictures taken inside the AIPH Housing building? Are you on Broad and Chestnut?

Not my bike, but I ride by it every day and drool. It's always parked outside of the krispy kreme on Van Buren and Financial. Incredible Hulk green. Just looks like a smooth ride.

My bike got so jealous it, tried to jump in front of a bus:

Didn't see any markings. It's there every weekday if you're ever downtown.

I'm never downtown anymore. I'm kinda glad since I worked down there for years.

I think I'm gonna break out the tandem and hit Cal's around 4pm one day soon (not a friday). The weather has to be super nice so I can sit outside and I'll drink PBR's. Dude, it's a solid plan.

"The weather has to be super nice"
might be waiting a while. If there's ever a DCC meeting at Cal's, someone alert me.

Personally I think that communicating with Tomity (or anyone else
for that matter) in their native tongue is cool, the one thing I would
ask is that a translation be posted so we non (fill in the lang of you choice)
speakers know what is being asked/posted.
