no one wins the ******** apple this time.
i read all seven pages of hate and no body said the most important thing, at least he is trying to ride a bike. if you look at hip hop/rap videos you will see that they enforced the worst aspects of consumerism within car culture. the message is to go bigger and badder to make the next guy jealous. A lot of us here are not happy with cars. How many of us hate SUV's? Has anyone here ever notice how many SUV's you see on the street closely emulate 'dub style' or street style with gigantic rims, and black windows?

cuz, ya know, hes gonna be riding his bike to the vmas and rap about ecological conservation or something instead of taking his private jet and wearing fly sunglasses.

Also, despite Kanye being an ass he is one of the most interesting conteporary rappers of our time. Anybody you will mention will probably be considered hip hop or not mainstream worthy. He is able to dumb down his music and still make it effective. Oh, what Young Jeezy is pushing the envelope? Or Young Dro?
yeah right.
yeah right.
Are you ****ing kidding me with that ****? The college dropout had moments of decency, but as far as interesting hip hop, you gotta be toy as **** to think kanye is interesting as an MC(the guy raps about little to nothing of real consequence, and what's worse, will spend 4-5 lines rhyming the same ****ing word), which i assume you mean since you called him a rapper(opposed to production).
There are plenty of mc's from "our time"(which is almost silly because it's not like hip hop is THAT old) that are inifinitely better, and that is only thinking about artist that have had "mainstream success" which is how you are measuring things up apparently.
It makes no sense to act like he is a good MC because he made some decent beats for people and parlayed that into a record deal upon which he proves that his skills as an mc are suspect at best. You want pushing the envelope? Most of the time, you won't find that in the mainstream anyone, which is why your argument is so silly. Why is Kanye important at all? Just because he sells as many records as 50cent or diddy and is less-****ty, doesn't make him quality. The majority of 'rappers' that will experience commercial success are garbage. Socially relevant or innovative or 'interesting' stuff rarely makes it to that level of success.

I haven't been able to take poor Kanye seriously since he played that Apple show.
Honestly, I didn't take him seriously before that either, but he wasn't on my radar then.

i lost a lot of respect for him when i saw him fight justice and simian for the mtv euro award. he had this "who the **** are these people" attitude. and a few months after that he goes and samples the daft punk track showing up at ed banger shows cuz he knows his ass is becoming irrelevant. and if you guys didn't already know, the manager of daft punk, busy p is also the owner of ed banger (justice, sebastian).
