I'll be in Bloomington the weekend of St. Patrick's (14-16th). I live north but am moving there in Aug. Wanting to do some riding but the kids I'm going to see don't have bikes. So I'll be riding alone and don't know the area very well. If anyone wants to ride let me know.

Seriously? They always treat me really good at Bikesmiths and sometimes sell me stuff out of the QBP catalog at their cost... but I spend a ton of cash in their shop. Their prices are lower than Revolution's, and I think their selection is better.

idk. I just think the guys at Revolution are a lot nicer, though I'm sure you're right about the selection. I guess I went a little far saying that they were a-holes, but I just haven't had a good experience with them. I ordered a cog and lock ring from them and they said they didn't have the time to throw it on for me

Then again, Bikesmith is practically spitting distance from my house, so maybe I just see what's convenient for me ...

the bikes they made out of old little 5 frames are sick. head up to revolution and check them out, seriously.
i went to bikesmiths last year, it was my shop, but thats only because i didnt branch out and go anywhere else. i ordered a bag from them, they never called me to come get it. 2 weeks after it was supposed to be in i walked in the shop and saw it hanging for sale in the window. they do have a good selection of stuff, but they never talked to me about what i was buying or even just casual chit chat.

similar experience...i ordered a lock through them, two weeks passed and i hadn't heard anything (they said a week at most) so i went in and asked. turns out the lock wasn't in stock, but they didn't feel like letting me know, and i had already paid for it so they were just sitting on my money. probably just some miscommunication between the staff but still, kind of pissed me off. i did buy a tire from them a little over a month ago though because they are cheaper than bicycle garage. looks like i have complaints against everyone but revolution...let's see if i can get them to **** up.
