I can't believe this is my first post, and it's about coffee. Yes I drink it. From the local shop at home, with a hand-operated conical grinder and a French press; and whatever piss they put in the pot at work. I just bought a second press though, so I'll be enjoying much better coffee at work really soon.
I'm in Athens, GA. We have a local roaster who also sponsor a cycling team - Jittery Joe's. Someone at the roaster takes care of "leftover" team bikes and surplus and impounded bikes from the University of Georgia and/or the local police. They convert some of the bikes to FG and SS - around 2004 I was at the roaster for the first time for a party and there were about 30 of these bikes along the walls. Finally, over three years later, I finished my first SS conversion, which gets a flip-flop rear wheel build in a month or so. Gotta thank the roaster for being a part of my inspiration!

hello
I like to pose while I drink coffee. A nice cozy patio is more important than the quality of coffee. But I do appreciate good coffee.

all this coffee talk made me raid my moms kitchen for her french press, she hadnt used it in the 5+ years she since she got it as a gift, i then asked her if she had a grinder and she showed me an antique hand grinder.
I grabbed a bag of my friend's freshly roasted beans and ground it, poured the boiling water, let sit a few minutes, plunged and am now enjoying the best cup of coffee I've had ever.
thanks bfssfg.

in Seoul? I grew to accept the Capi-u-yu (bagged, of course). There was a small cafe in HaeBongChun near NamSanDaeRo (just below NamSan Tower on the "MiPalGun" side of NamSan) that had the best coffee in my neck of the woods. And then there was the "Chicago Bulls" cafe just outside DanKook University. My favorite cafe name as "Al Pacino," located in ApkuJongDong.
and yes, I drink about 6 brewed cups a day. It is my only true vice

i've tried to drink less lately, just for my stomach, and to preserve more hydration in my body.
but a really good cup is a beautiful thing. i can't wait to get some stumptown coffee in me.

We sold Aeropresses at the coffee shop where I worked. It's a nice way to make yourself an Americano for cheap. Can't say I've ever tried a straight shot out of one, though. We'd have a customer come in every once in a while who would specifically request the Aeropress because regular-brewed shots upset her stomach.

I was a barista in New Orleans for years. There's only one place for good coffee in my town. Luckily, it's right behind the bike shop.

they're insulated so the shot stays warm, but still clear so you can see/appreciate the crema. nice feel in the hand (although i may say a bit on the light side). borosilicate isn't as porous so it doesn't absorb flavour or get stained as rapidly as normal glass.
