I actually think that is a really cool idea. I'll try it with my Frog tonight.

Never posted on a thread before...

Hope I posted this correctly. I've never posted on a thread before. The Concept thread has been an inspiration. Thanks! So classic! Con1.jpg

It could easily be saved by fixing that ******** bar angle, changing the stem and maybe the crank/ring combo.

Oh and,
bar tape.

Honestly, is it possible for anyone to intentionally set up the bars that way?

Good Lord, that is a hideous build.

New stem
Cut the steerer tube
Angle up those bars
Wrap those bars
Get a new crank/chainring
Tuck that wheel in

not to be a component elitist, but i'm tired of seeing some formula hubs on Vs + 130 bcd cranks + stock saddles + post + stupid bar setups + cheap pedals

I'm only guilty of having one Formula hub and a low-end seatpost on my Concept. In my defense, I hate the Formula and am saving up for a new rear wheel. Too damn heavy.

dont get me wrong, i owned some dp18s laced to formulas (while using them only once) i liked the way they spun and they are a great deal for the money.

but it's like concept owners (generalizing...) are soo caught up on this celeste , matte, white frame...that they realize that they run out of money after spending 8xx.00$ on a frameset lol.

i seriously get the idea with some of these builds that they just buy a frameset because of the hype then slap on "random" components to "complete" the bike.

i'd let the wheelset slide if it weren't for the tires, crankset, and terrible cockpit setup. and i'm trying real hard to be the shepherd, or at least less critical of other people's bikes.

for what it's worth, i don't mind riding formulas.

Nothing wrong with formulas. They arn't noticeably heavier (and in some cases lighter) than other track hubs and spin well. I think they are a great place to save money on a build.
