I think that a cream color more towards white is what I would like to run. Less gold IMO. Flat Khaki could be cool too but for me if I were to buy one in an off white color I would prefer glossy and use it to build a real classy whip more towards a vintage looking bike. But I think that a color along these lines can sell great to a person wanting a different looking bike. All I can see is a brooks with a tool bag and some leather grips with a coaster set up. I want it!

I am very interested in the Jury frame, and I agree that a nice cream, butter or wheat color would be ideal. The new Kilo frames look nice, but they are probably quite like a lot of other frames around that price point. The Jury looks like something that might get you a little separation from the pack (at least for fender & rack people like me).

Post 10 of this thread, I think.

So, what size seat post?

I have some colors from a book but they are hard to photo . . I like the idea of this type color all trimmed in black components, fenders, racks etc It may be easiest to specify your color by using standard automotive color codes because you don't have to invent a color and you could easily request painted samples from your nearest body shop at minimal cost? Or at least be able see their sample books in sunlight. If you see a car you like, use the make/model/year to look up the paint code & you may even be able to find online photos of the color to refer to in order to get feedback from potential customers. For example, I love bugs, how about the Panama Beige (on my 65 bug) which has a little green in it. The Samba has pages devoted to old VW paint codes plus there are links to car photos which show the color in real light on a car. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/...codestype1.php Couldn't find any eggshell although there are off-whites that may be similar to what you are looking for. |
Agreed on the monitor thing, I was about to say that..
Also agreed on more white than gold in your color choice. I would not buy something that is gold, or even goldish. Look towards the off white and cream colors! |
is it 26.8 or 27.0? mine should be arriving on monday! :D

Im getting really excited for this jury frame in the cream color.. At least we've got him looking at the color charts now. I just thought of another use the frame could see, Nexus 8speed touring frame anyone? Let alone the city cruiser bike that Im planing to build it for, the thought of using the nexus on a full fendered, and racked frame, that I currently use is a big two for one for me. With another set of bars and brakes this bike would take the place of another and save lots of money, and space, only taking a few short minutes swapping out bars and brakes.

Moderators should merge this with the Kilo TT Pics thread. There's really no need for two Kilo TT threads on the mainpage all the time.
|
I have been following this thread since the beginning, and just want to thank Mike at bikesdirect for all he has done for everyone. I realize he is making money off our sales, but its nice to see someone taking your suggestions and making them a reality.
I myself am waiting for the purple kilo to come around august.. Thanks Mike!! |

Yeah, god forbid there be one less space for another thread (re: Bikes with colors, no brakes, aren't used on "the track", or having anything to do with fun) for you to hate on.
