Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I have the same problem, I hope its just a ****ty chain ring. Mine is pretty bad, I dropped a chain yesterday, good thing I was going slow, and had a brake. No damage.

don't think so.

I tried a small ring and the tension was no even close to being maintained through a crank revlolution.

maybe with a deraileur/tensioner.
