yeah something about colored chains look cheesy to me. gold is the only 'colored' one i could deal with.
i was thinkin about posting a thread...but i figured id ask here first:: what lubes and greases do you guys use when workin on your bike!?

i got mine in the mail yesterday. I made an attempt to strip the bike down to bare frame/fork in hopes of getting it powdercoated. Anyways, I ran in to some setbacks. Our shop doesn't have the tool to remove the cups from the headset (I'll attempt the ill-advised screwdriver method) and I couldn't get the bb to budge.

hey, been checking out this thread and i think i might jump on this bike. i have a couple questions if you guys don't mind
1) i'm about 5'5 and the inseam (crotch to feet) is about 28.5in. should i go with a 49 or 52?
2) people have been saying to change the cog to a 17t. how can i determine if the chain is 1/8 or 3/32 so i can get the right cog
3) lastly, would this freewheel be compatible? and when installing it, another lockring would be needed?
thanks

Thanks. Those are just some straight bars with SRAM grips on em. My LBS just gave them to me. I think I cut about 4.5 inches off. And that's a rattle can paint job.
