I find that hard to believe. It means they added 12mm of extra rim for the exact same rim weight as deep v's. And they're the same price as deep v's.

The only ride reports I have heard about them say they are VERY stiff and harsh. You really wouldn't want to ride them on the street. That came from a shop owner in Richmond who had several sets for sale. His employees bought several sets for personal use and all said they were rough riding. Though, what would you expect from a 42mm rim? Once they come out in tubular they will make a great track rim.

The owner posted on that other forum with several weight pictures. If you order from him and they are off, just dispute them and return em.

They look really cool but probably overkill on strength and weight for a lot of people.
I feel the same way about Deep Vs too though.
HPlusson owner seems like a real nice guy. Ive swapped a few emails with him.
Im hoping theyll come out with a less deep version later on.

if they didn't cost so much I'd consider using them instead of open pros on my somec build
perhaps my mind will change
have you advertised these in the clydes/athenas forum?
I feel like there would be an audience there

So this is taken from another conversation I've had with the owner of this company on another forum. He wasn't happy with my assessment of his rim but he did give some more detailed information.
I used Deep Vs as a point of reference since I know them and just about everybody does.
Tzusing, the owner, says,"I wouldn't say my rim is stronger than a deep v if you are using it for tricking. But my rims will probably stay true for longer. This has to do with the fact that my side walls are really thin and that 42 mm is a lot longer of a side wall than 30mm.
if you are doing bunny hops off 5 stairs you might cause the side walls to bend.
But as a normal urban riding rim my rims are strong. "
They use a proprietary aluminum which he claims has a 30% higher MPA than the 6065 used in most other aluminum rims, like the Deep V. However, when I asked for objective information on the material he could not provide any as it is a secret proprietary aluminum for which no public information exists..
Also, Velocity USA advertises their weight for the Deep V at 520 grams and he's also posted evidence that they actually weigh 620 grams. So, take that how you will. The Deep V may or may not be lighter depending on the day it was made or something like that.
These new rims are cool, but as I stated on the other forum, are functionally inferior rims in comparison to the Deep V. And overpriced. I'm sure now that there is a thread here, he'll come and comment.

One might argue that the H+Son rims are only functionally inferior to Deep Vs if you want a so-called 'bombproof' rim for tricks/abuse/heavy urban rider. Conversely, if you want actual aero benefits for the track or time trials, without the additional cost of carbon rims, this is not the case.
I'll concede that the intended market is the tricks crowd, but just for reference, the Zipp 285 rim (which is the rim in the 303 wheelset) has a 44mm profile. And is 200g lighter, dimpled, and significantly more expensive.
