Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

That's great about the PhD, maybe you can PM me about the school/program. And I don't want to put you on the defense or judge, so take this with a grain of salt, but not having a single A from a section is not necessarily a good thing. And this is probably not your fault, considering you're the TA/ graduate student instructor and the fact that majority of college/uni Professors have not completed a grad program in the art of teaching, which means many do not know how to teach effectively (I can think of a few during my time at Berkeley).

Holding students to high standards is necessary, however, not one single A means that the teacher needs to reflect on his/her practices and student needs, review assessment data, discern why and how things went south and reteach, so that students attain proficiency/mastery. And this may be the secondary teacher in me, as Unis have more of a sink or swim philosophy.

That is all. Carry on. Sorry for the non bike porn-post

+1, as a student, if there were no A's, either the test was ****ed, or the prof was slacking. The likelihood that every student was lazy/stupid is pretty low.

edit: Clubman, any pics of that whole bike? I love all the white plastic.

You just need a crank with a smaller BCD to balance it out:

Bikes: tirove

building a track bike up for a showroom with anything but those wheels (or enves, or zipps) would be stupid.
