Ride with pride.

Change is good. Send it over to Joe Bell, & give it the respect it's due. Nice bike!

It's original owner was a local racer and all round athlete and also a bit of a celebrity as he continued to race well into his seventies until he died as a result of a cycling accident (which happened on his new bike).

I acquired it from the estate a few years ago and really love the bike just the way it is... a full on frame restoration would erase too much history and take away the character of this old racer.

And the frame is merely faded and a little scuffed up... despite having the fenders she does not see much rain here and gets a break in the winter.

Anyone can have a crusty old bike repainted. Keeping a bike like that original is giving it the respect it deserves.

That front wheel reminds me of those ball wheelbarrows ironically....

Looks like it is a pursuit bike (runs smaller front wheel).

Why are you calling that bike old & crusty? Regardless it's a steel frame, having it repainted would make it last longer. A Joe Bell paint job will only increase it's value. Letting a frame rust is not giving it the respect "it deserves".

Anyway, Sixty Fiver said it best... "a full on frame restoration would erase too much history and take away the character of this old racer." I fully appreciate that.

Didn't mean that his bike was old and crusty, was trying to say that any old/crusty bike will look nice with a new paint job. A bike like Sixty-Fiver's in original condition is worth more to a enthusiast/collector than one that has been "restored". A bike is only original once.

I'm not a fan of classic bike restorations, unless the bike is too far gone to ride/use, keep it original IMO.

Anyway, I'll try to make up for the hijack.

Looks good except for the lame handlebars and smurf saddle.

EDIT: I was referring to the Yamaguchi.

That bike is sick. EDS is a weird company, but they did some good things for my hometown (like building a velodrome).

Yes! Let us know about the pricing or if frames/parts are sold separately. Thanks.
