Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: Surly CC

Skeeter's pants are way too loose for proper street cred though. And he has tape on that bullhorn, clearly a fakenger.

I think this is just how lazy animators and the general public view bicycles in general. Saw one in a political cartoon that had the stem on backwards. Made me kind of want to try it...

Good point. They're just easier to draw.

yo son. easy. skeeter ain't no jackass. he's rocking an Affinity pursuit style frame with a hed. solid rear wheel and a hed. tri spoke in the front. plus he's got matching knickers, adidas kicks, and a flash jersey. and a time trial helmet. and his gear ratio is off the hook. in the early 90s. what.

Bikes: Bianchi Pista/Fuji Nevada/Windsor Clockwork

there were a few in Heroes Season One in the background. there was also a "bike messenger" i forger if it was one or two. but he was wearing a Chrome Kremlin upside down. later in season three they went to bike Messenger Co. to get back the comic book that was give to the "Messenger" in a earlier season. there was a bike chase, but i am pretty sure it was a geared bike in that scene. i will have to go back on Netflix and try to find the episode to check it out.

Bikes: Mercier Kilo TT Pro, Schwinn Le Tour Conversion, Free Spirit polo beater, Cervelo P2T, aluminum tandem.

There is an awful write-up in GQ about fixed gears also:

It's a large image ... if it isn't working for you, you can see it here.

Personally, I have several keys ... for the front door of my apartment building, another for the back door, for my apartment door, for my mailbox, for my office, for my bike lock. That's 6 keys right there. I also carry (these could come off though since I don't often use them) 2 keys to my parents' house. Maybe I am missing something though.

i just read the first line of that GQ article and im dying. they have to label it as a European trend to give it mystique for their sheepish readership to be interested. what snobs.
