I've never actually seen twisted spokes...the only thing I'd do to my spokes is throw some cards in there. I have a few promo cards jammed in my spokes from hip-hop shows I attended (Bicasso, Roots, Grough&Eligh, Lyrics Born, Rock the Bells). Other than that...blah another pointless fad.

Have you ever actually ridden them or is that just hate for hates sake? I raced BMX on them for several years and never once broke a spoke. The wheel builds up just as true with nearly as high spoke tension if it is done right. It's purely an aesthetics thing, but so be it. If it were truly about function you wouldn't be riding a fixed gear bike. You would be riding a carbon road frame with 30 gears and disc brakes.

got this frame at a local auction. paid too much for it, but happy to find out that the shifters and derailers are in fine working condition. was originally intending to weld in some track fork ends, but decided since the shifting gear worked fine that I'd keep it a road bike. Then I went to see which i preferred for fixed use, the trek or this mbk. this frame is a hair heavier, but they feel pretty similar. decided to keep the trek fixed as it didn't come with DT shifter braze ons (i think it needs the clamp on type, doesn't look like they were ground off). gonna mess with this fixed until my road wheels come in.
(trek for reference, and why none of the parts really match the mbk haha. also the yellows got messed up, this pic has the same gold chain and nipples and bar end plugs https://s437.photobucket.com/albums/q...ns/trek%20460/)

oh, and my road frame would be titanium, reduce chance of carbon failure. unfortunately, it only has 20 gears, guess there's little market for sram red triples lol. guess nobody made the connection of my post with my jackass bike

What's up with all the assh0les in here? Haters...seriously. I used to ride twisted spokes on my old haro group 1 a, and I've always liked them. Hipster poser? Far from it. Say that to my face, e-thugger.
But anyway, the wheel is true and there's nothin' wrong with lacing up your spokes differently than others as long as it's functional still. *******.
