I picked up a silver 48t Affinity cycles chainring for $10 today. looks like the guy never used it. My buddy was buying a set of omniums from the guy and I just bought the chainring because for $10 why not?
I hate the look of the stock omnium chainrings so im gonna use this one until I have enough saved up for my black sugino zen.

A pair of Conti Tour Ride Urbans (700x37) for the Nature Boy. Tried them out on an 18 mile ride this a.m. and they were flawless.

I like this game! im not seeing anything major though .... besides fit issues (slammed stem and nearly slammed seat) but whenever I see this i just assume someone bought a frame just a lil too big. Oh and a tire mounted the wrong way? Did I miss what you saw?

I'm so bad at this, I do it all the time. I'm too lazy to shift out of the big ring. Granted, there aren't many things to climb in my area, so really the only time I cross-chain is when I down shift before getting to a red light.

No worries. It's primarily about preventing premature wear and tear. Also, the same goes when you're off the saddle, always helps to shift down the gears to keep derailleur return springs recessed as opposed to stretched out.
