IIRC, the Langster is an Allez frame with track ends. Same geometry. I learned the hard way: lots of pedal strike on my old Langster. They're meant for singlespeed, really.

I believe you're correct. The Allez didn't always have a sloping TT though.

The old Allezseses are great. And the steel Langster.

Hm, maybe I hate sloping top tubes too. But the curved top tubes that Specialized uses on their higher-end bikes are pretty cool.

Steel Langster is overrated, IMO. I'd rather have a Kilo.

And I have to disagree about that curved TT.

I hate that ****!

Anyway...back to your regularly scheduled thread.

I said higher end, Scrod! Such as:

Also I found out that the 2006 and earlier Langsters had extremely high BBs, and only after then did they start making them Allez frames. They also eliminated the Langster Pro and Langster Comp.

Sorry! Back to buying **** for your bike.

Bought a half link for my augusta after finding that any dirt stuck to the wheel ended up grinding the paint off my seattube.

Yeah, older Allez's are great and they don't have sloping top tubes.

Also, my LBS has one of these and it's beautiful in person.

with just a brooks, cork grips, a stainless coffee mug holder and some decal removal(keep the umbrellas and coffee and lose the specialized logo) that thing is classy as **** and still fast. i hated it at first and was all ga-ga over the london and boston... but the seattle's the only one with staying power. and i love it now.

not my style but i can dig on em.
every song i hear now i expect some filthy dub downbeat to drown me out for two minutes before some grimey pressure drop cooks my woofers.

it's a disease.

as for my purchases?

shallow and ergo as ****. used for 30 bucks.

black microtex, duh

vetta GEL turbo saddle. it's rough as hell and the cover's going to fly off any minute, but for five bucks it was a good buy. i have so many saddles now after buying three ponzas, it's ridiculous.

I will admit that the Seattle one does look nice. Someone in our school always locks up his seattle langster(all stock) by a fence and everytime I walk by I wonder how it would look with no brakes, no "SPECIALIZED" logo, brooks, and some leather wraps....

Yeah this was my first time and, although the situation in general sucked, we did have some fun on the walk back. Can't deny it.

Dude, I have the comp version of those bars (don't know the difference b/t these and the comp) but I ****ing love them so much. So shallow and ergo, will forever be my favorite bars. However, my only complaint is that mine are about 2-4cm too wide. But I got them for free, so I can't complain.

Yeah, free. I didn't even pay for shipping.

I need to order one of thsoe from PBK soon. I got a Minoura saddle rail mount, but it holds the bottle too far down and everytime you go over a bump, the weight of the bottle causes the entire thing to jold. one of the bolts then hits the seatpost. It chipped my Thomson!
