Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

complete and utter fail..... deserved a ticketing by law enforcement= most likely/possibly... attempted murder/assault or any other forms of hands on retribution=fuk no. The action in no way shape or form justifies the reaction.

i noticed this as well, yes the cyclists are being a little cocky with their rights (share the road goes both ways) but that driver obviously let the power of the internal combustion engine go to his head.

you can bag on them for putting themselves in the situation, but you can't justify that drivers actions, at all, no matter what.

In California, cyclists win only 1/3 court cases involving car/bike situations.

Regardless of who's at fault, if you think you can trust completely impartial abstract justice to make the right call, you'll be sadly wrong. Juries are stacked with people who are frustrated drivers who merely view bikes as obstacles.

You also can't continually provoke someone to attack you and expect everyone to sympathize. If the situation were reversed, and the riders were being completely legal and a car decided to mess with them by getting in their way and interposing, you bet your life that would factor in too.
