Just wondering how much strap you leave before you cut it and put the button on the end of the strap. I would say I have about 4 " of strap before the button and it seem a bit long.

strap sticking out of the clamp mechanism ... I thought it was implied ... guess not

my feet are large so i only have an inch past the button, so 4 inches does sound like a lot.
