Ergo Road Drops
For Example

What do you guys think of these on fixed gears? Currently my handle bar is not wide enough for me (I need 44cm and I have a 36cm) which leaves me feeling compressed and it stresses my back a lot. So I looked online for round road drop bars with my specs and they all seem too shiny to put bar tape on or more expensive than what my LBS stocks, plus I don't want to wait a week for a new handle bar to arrive because my back really needs it now. I once read someone here call a bike fugly because it had ergo road drops and I wonder if this is a general opinion on SSFG.
I don't want track drops, sorry I'm not Mr. Cool

I have a set of black Origin 8 propulsions left over from a previous bike. They were quite comfortable and absorbed a lot of shock. I admit I thought they looked bad on my bike.

if you're that concerned about appearance and want road drops, the nitto b115 and b105's aren't too pricey and don't have funny bends or ergo drops.

Humans, and especially those that ride FG for some reason, can find fault in just about anything you have/wear/say/think.... I would encourage you to try not to care as much about the consensus of your crowd.

If you physically can't wait a week for new bars, I think that answers your question right there.
Personally, I love good ergo drops, especially flared CX drops. I've said it before, but I'm a big fan of Salsa's Bell Lap bars. I run the ones that flare to 46 on a few bikes and love 'em. the 44s are great as well. Really offers some solid positions and a variety of different position widths with the flare.

well I got them from the LBS. The bike feels so comfortable now which is the most important thing. It doesn't look as nice as it did with the round drops but it's cool.

some of the reason these new fangled bars often look weird is because many people are setting them up at funny looking angles. that masi has them set up nicely.

I've got Ergos on my MASI as well. Having a flat shoulder and transition to the brake hoods is super ****ing rad and this is by far my favorite bar setup. People who matter will judge you by how you ride, not how your bike looks. Everyone else can think whatever they want.

I do love the way track drops look, and they're great for sprinting, but not very comfortable for riding around on the street. Just go with what you think is best for you.
Here's a pic with the ITM ergo road drops I was running before:

Here's a pic with the FSA ergo road drops with flat/aero tops I'm running now:

The bars neither know nor care if your drivetrain is fixed or free, one speed or 30.
Anyhoo, here's my old Trek 660 conversion with Ritchey ergo bars and Cane Creek hoods.

Ergo drops with hoods are the pro road standard for a reason. The most, and most comfortable hand positions available. Fashion plate types who think they are stupid are probably slow as hell, so let them think what they want as you drop them, with a comfortable position on your bars.

I didn't like the abrupt position when I tried anotomic bars but I did appreciate what they were going for. I've used FSA Wing Pro Shallow bars and found them to be really comfortable, but for my 'cross bike I wanted a set of 44cm wide bars (which FSA doesn't "really" make in the Wing Pros) so I picked up a set of 3T Ergosums:

Still ergo, but smoother curve.
