Can somebody help identify this for me?
So I recently inherited a bike from a friend during a move, but he seems to know as little about it as i do. I was wondering if someone could help identify what it is, if its any good etc. All I know is that its incredibly light, its a fixed gear, with sugino gt cranks and a 46 tooth sugino chain ring. its also got a carbon fibre front wheel with a dragonfly brake on the front. the frame is blue, but has no name on it, just this image...

its fast. i know that much. help?

gonna venture a guess that it's Italian. Now, what kind of dropouts does it have?
post pics here. If it is a real track bike some people may know about it. BUT, if it's an old road bike that's been converted to FG, then you are better off showing it to the guys in C&V

Its definitely a Merckx badge, an old one, and judging by the slop, I'd say it was poorly repainted.
I don't know about Merckx frames that old. I figure it would be difficult to transplant that headbadge, so its probably authentic. If its actually worth anything, the person that it's worth something to should be able to recognize it quickly

If I remember correctly, Eddy put his name on dept store bike of some kind. This was prior to him building his own brand of very nice frames. Take this over to C&V and let the all knowing ones make the call.

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.
Looks like an old English frame tarted up with Eddy Merckx decals.
Falcon licensed the Merckx name in the 70s but I've never seen them in anything other than Molteni oragne; nor have I seen them with a lamp bracket on the fork.

No, you mistunderstood me, I like the bike a lot, but it's quite clearly (imo) a conversion and not an original track bicycle. I didn't mean that as a value judgement but only as a statement of fact. If I had said "it's not a BMX bike" would you have felt offended too?
