Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Anodized rims last longer than painted rims. Lots of bikes are made with annodized braking surface rims on them.

Even painted rims stop you just fine. They are loud though, which can be useful, it's a bit like having a horn! If a car gets too close, squeeze the brake and let them know you are there!

If we had known, we would have said, I guess we didn't actually say we don't know the answer to your question. You may have well asked "When is Velocity going to release a 80mm deep hub?"

So call Velocity.

But for real it's just because the same noobs just keep asking the same questions about things you easily learn in the same amount of time it takes to set up an account here and create a thread.

A quick recap of our correspondence here...

- You stated that you wanted to run a certain set of rims and a brake without smudging the paint.

- I offered a solution that would allow this. (roller brake)

- You sarcastically replied "great, just answer my question".

- I looked up the contact info for the manufacturer and posted it for you as this is the only credible source of info relating to the release of these rims in a machined version.

- Now I'm an arsehole* from "the grouchiest forum on the internet".

*my word, not yours.

You are sounding a bit grouchy!

Don't worry about him, everyone can see what happened. He may try to make you feel like an arse, but we can all see it from your point of view.

And NuggetRoss. Have you ever heard anything about a B43 with a MBS? No??? Then why did you think we would know when they are being released? Or maybe you were hoping someone here works in Velocity and can give us an inside scoop.

Now I am being grouchy! this thing is contagious!
