Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

i use the Schwalbe Ultremo DD. I ride a lot and it finally took a month to get a flat... I dont skid a ton but I can say the center seam on the tire is still there after 2 months and glass usually doesnt even cut the rubber... the 140psi is kinda nice too... best tires I have used in a very long time...

I'm guessing this might make them better on wet roads (a little paranoid about wet traction right now because I nearly lost a front tooth thanks to some Rubinos). The Ribmo's cross section is really interesting...almost like a soft V shape.

You're exactly right. I've put about 50 miles on this thing so far and I only have two complaints; first is that the 28c is such a high volume tire, when you're in the saddle really stompin down a hill, it'll have a tendency to exacerbate any kind of bob in your stroke, like a spring, so you have to be tight on your form. The tire is cool over the Rando in that it'll hold up to 110psi, and I'm running it at 90, so I'll play with pressures to see if that helps. Second thing is, the compound is much softer than the Rando, so it's tacky and can be somewhat unpredictable in skids.

Regardless, I like it still better than the Randonneur. Here's a few crappy cell pics (one image looks like my wheel is horribly out of line w the stays, it's an illusion).

I like Panasonic Tourguard plus tires, over here in Cambodia they are lasting a long time.
