Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I read about twenty threads today, but only posted in a few. Seems like this one was just waiting for my useless input.

You act surprised that someone cut their risers too narrow.

To the OP - why can't you just mount your lever after the curve like this?

Haha, not *****exual, but a not offended bullhorn rider except at the concept that a nice long ride could rile you up in a negative way. When I ride, I feel so at peace afterward. It is the perfect way to go brain dead for a few hours.

Also, the curve on riser or make then a bit wider. Ask yourself, form, function, or how can I make them meet?

I didn't get riled up in a negative way at all! Riding today made me feel awesome. I was just snarking (mostly toward erichsia) with tongue planted firmly in cheek.

Definitely eases my mind, sir.

@Brian, English. You could easily see many mistakes in my posts and yet I will still sleep just as soundly because I don't care to make my posts on forums any kind of masterpiece. Also, I have read Latin for at least four hours today which completely screws up my ability to articulately express my sentiments. Please, accept my dearest apologies.

No one said your posts had to be a masterpiece. It just amazes me that some people spend so little time trying to construct a coherent thought online, then wonder why they can't get a straight answer. If you've been studying Latin, you have my sympathy. That's fair.

Try out a BMX lever. They usually go 22.2mm and fit well. And some has pin-clamp setup so you don't have to take the grip off to take it off. If you are concerned, you can try to get 25.4mm lever so you can fit the lever on other types of bars. (I fit a 25.4mm lever on 26mm bar, it worked but I wouldn't do it if the bar is a carbon one.)

What? Latin is real fun, man. Eventually you are gonna get to Medieval Latin (manuscripts) and that's where you get everything from blood and gore to s3x and scandals. Apparently scribes prided themselves on dramatizing their work, so much so they get reeeeaaal vividly nasty and saucy. Just hang on for few years of remembering declensions and stuff.

On the contrary, Fabio got his big dumb face in the way of a bird while riding a rollercoaster.
