mostly all shimano 600 tricolor, not as awesome as mostly all mavic but it does the trick

a great homage to the wonderful and all too brief reign of aluminum with a splash of new hotness.

Just picked this up from a friend who runs a shop in my hometown. Stem has been flipped and Speedplays are now on. Even old 9 speed Dura Ace shifts better then Apex...

Also, should I remove the wheel decals?

After getting some good time with it, I can say that this bike rides very very well. Handling is swift and stable and the OX piping is comfy when the road buzz stirs. I'm quite happy with it.

nice. i want a steel bike just like that for my everyday riding, but with shimano 6600 or 7800. I've looked at gunnar quite a bit.

in the mean time, I use this:

Usually featuring a frame pump and a saddle bag, both of which are huge and ugly.
I'm taking it into work the long way tomorrow for a 3hr ride.

Frameset: Centurion Ironman Dave Scott model, 1990 or so. Chromo.
Front Wheel: Open Pro/Shimano 105
Rear Wheel: Open Pro/Ultegra
Tires: Old ass gatorskins, taken off hardly used bike
Brakeset: Dura Ace 7800. THE BEST brakes imo. Way better than my Sram Red or TRP. Worth the weight.
Crankset: Ultegra 6700
Seatpost: Shimano 600 Ax (original group)
Saddle: Nashbar Race
Stem: Nitto Dynamic, 100mm
Bars: Random "Specialized" branded Nittos. 40cm classic drop.
Shifters: Dura Ace 7900 10-sp downtube
RD: Ultegra 6600
FD: 105 5700
Chain: 10-sp 105, don't know which series #
Pedals: Look Keo Classic
Tape: Fizik
Cages: King Stainless

I make sure to race a flat crit a couple times a year with it just for ****s and giggles.

Thanks guys! For a cheap little frame and leftover parts build, it's a pretty awesome little bike.

Do you get **** for it? If not, then it is good to be cat 3. I knew a couple cat 5s that were riding with dt shifters and they get a lot of flak for it.

naw, more like "cool bike"

maybe if I raced sketchy with it ppls would hate on me.
also I earned my points and upgraded out of the 4s last season, so i've yet to do a 3s crit with it.

which makes it even more surprising that i didn't get **** for it
