It definitely needs to be broken in, but yes it is very comfy... epecially for its price

I thought about getting the Colt, but REI only stocks 4 Brooks Saddles... Sooo, B-17 is the way it is. It fits right in on the Madison... Even though I feel like its a carbon copy of Scrods

You can get a smoking hot price on a Colt from Velomine right now. They have several colors in stock and they say they aren't moving as well as they had expected, so they are motivated to sell!

$175 ? Is that a good price for a re-issued saddle?

Wrong thread to ask... besides, what issues do you think you would have? Are you using all of the parts from the maddy to the Nashbar bike?

You need to call or email them. They will usually quote a price lower than what is on their website.

Hey! I'm new to the biking world I just recently bought a 2010 Madison and I am having some difficulty assembling the fork and handlebars. There is still some play and it wont tighten all the way...what could be the problem? Could someone possibly walk me through the assembly steps and tell me which way the bearings are supposed to go and stuff? Thank you so much!

2010 madison geometry

I found these specs for the 2010 Madison - can anyone tell me if the seat tube measurement is center-to-center or center-to-top? This funky track geometry has me confused. I have a custom road frame that has a 58cm seat tube (CC) and also 58cm top tube, with a 33.1" standover. I'm 6'2". I understand any track frame will have a short TT, so I'm leaning towards the Large. Opinions?

Also - is there clearance under the brakes for full fenders? I saw one guy with cross knobbies, so I'm hoping there is room...

Frame Size: XS, S, M, L, XL
Effective Top Tube Length: 512, 531, 545, 560, 570mm
Seat Tube Length: 545, 565, 585, 605, 625mm
Standover Height: 30.7, 31.4, 32.2, 33.1, 33.9"
Seat Tube Angle: 76, 75.5, 74.5, 74, 74°
Head Tube Angle: 73, 74, 74.3, 74.5, 75°
Wheelbase: 957, 958, 963, 967, 971mm

Thanks,

Dave

Are you talking about a headset spacer or top cap?

Dude is missing the star nut, compression nut or equivalent. Different headsets use slightly different variants for this part. Bring the top cap and bolt to your local bike shop and tell them you lost the other part. Also, it won't hurt to measure the inner diameter of the steerer tube. Don't tell them anything about mail ordering a bike or you'll have to endure the requisite ridicule and pay an extra $10 for the part.
