Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

no helmet, not because they're bulky or look silly, mostly because I have nothing super important live for.

I'd never ride my bicycle without a helmet just the same as I'd never ride my motorcycle without one just the same as I'd never drive without a seatbelt. I may die doing something really stupid but I'll be damned if it's from not wearing a helmet.

"Bro"s aside, I gotta agree with this. Always got something to live for, even if it's just another bike ride.

That was probably one of the most stupid things I've ever heard in a long while. If you think you're cool by saying, then you missed it by a long shot. I mean, health is all you ****ing have, I'm happy I'm not your friend in real life. If I hear one of my friends died because of a bicycle accident, I think a huge chunk of me will die and fade away.

Seriously, what the ****.

Sheeeutt (in the style of Clay Davis). 2010 is merely ~58% finished. Between this and the whole Tony Hayward/Carl-Henric Svenberg flustercuck we already have some top contenders for Darwin Awards.

Usually, I'm one of the first people to pull out a picture of a cat doing something funny, but anything that vaguely resembles a cry for help (telling a public forum you have nothing important to live for) is serious f-cking business. God damn.

Yes, we're just random people on the internet, but that doesn't mean that we won't still at least try to keep you from doing something stupid.

Exactly, I already refrained myself from posting cat pictures and stuff, and this is quite serious, you already ride brakeless and strapless. Then again, you are probably still in your mid teen, all this stuff we've been talking about is probably not going to get through your head.

I'm going go make myself some tea...

We all have your own prospectives on things. My reasons to ride helmet-less (strapless, lightless, etc etc etc) are my own.

to each his own man, if you guys want a rocksteady's personal list to fixed gear Ir-responsibility, i will gladly post

I do lotsa really dangerous stuff that would probably make you all cringe.

Check one. ... My helmet need replacement, tho. Stuff was on my head for a good few years, it not just look used, but it smells like it's used. ... And it got salt forming between outer case and foams. If it ain't stinky, I can get away saying it's research specimen.

My sister has about 2 weeks left on this planet. She'd love to trade places with you I'm sure.
