I used to be more into horsepower, so a VW with a chipped 1.8T motor would be cool, but now I'm really seeing the advantages of getting a TDI... whoah, what the hell was I talking about? Oh yeah VW w/ TDI is cool.
. As for the TDI, gotta love em. When chipped the torque gains are spectacular.

I wish they'd make a newer version of the plymouth reliant, i had an 86 reliant and that sucker was a beast on wheels, and shaped like a box to boot!

Never heard of 'em, I haven't messed with internals though. I'm into doing all the work myself, and I've always been pretty worried about getting in over my head, no pun intended.

I realized that I'm pretty proficient at taking things apart and putting things together, but tuning is not my forte. Now I'm just looking to get rid of it, for however much someone will pay for it (most people would probably want it for the parts).
Never heard of Meyerhoff Lifters... is that some sorta crack like saying you need new muffler bearings?

"shoot, it will always be that way, i can't ever see that place changing. "
Having gone to HS in Charlottesville (CHS), I can assure you the town has changed, and greatly, in the last twenty (plus) years. Heck, there used to be nothing but farmland after the Kmart on 29, and if I see one more McMansion west of town I might have to buy something combustible. And use it. But Basic cycles is kinda curious, if a bit odd, and the bike shops there are way better than Richmond's.

@#$%, it's creeping east when I'm not looking.
Northside, baby!

Bikes: yes please.
cars have their place. a pinarello track bike would be nice, but if you already have a bike and need a car, the cost of it may be harder to justify.
i typically commute to work, but when it snows i definitely drive. of course, i just put a vtec motor in my civic and it is increasingly harder to choose a bike over my car lately. i'll probably go back to commuting until the winter starts, but my new motor is too much fun.

I stayed in c'ville for a summer, doing a summer language program at UVA.
I tried to be friendly and tried to have fun but i went nuts out there...though its awesome that they have bike lanes in most places.
with all of these richmond people popping up in the forums...why not get a group ride together, and even the expatriates who moved to No.Va. (god forbid) can come too
