Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? and your response to all the facts, figures I gave is:

"Dood you better post a pix of ur truck LOL!!1"
"Yer called out"
"Pudding"

Bikes: 01 bianchi pista, custom. 04 felt f-15, full record.

if you sat on a pin, do you think it would fit?

and another thing, do you ride fixed? Single speed? No? And nothing productive to add to a discussion about fixed gear or single speed? Didn't think so. Ciao baby, there's a whole subforum you can push your garbage conservatism in.

so take us back to topic, how will the arch neo-con mess with cars once he gets his SS built? by leaving flyers of NRA "facts" about gun control under the wipers?

You also owe us a photo of your class schedule this semester. You're a student, but you're still raking in the huge paychecks.

no need for envelopes, just photos, posted right here. Use paint to blur out any info that you wouldn't want big brother or the general public to know -- name, ssn, addy, license plate on the truck, bank account numbers, etc etc.

that's classic advocacy and safety self-hating -- it has to be the cyclists who do something wrong and provoke the drivers. Nonsense. I've had plenty of altercations just sitting on the side of road during group rides. Everyone wants to yell something, to pass me when I'm taking the lane and going the speed limit, only to turn right at the next light, to tell me to get on the sidewalk, to throw ****, launch fireworks, spit, curse, point fingers, etc. Some people choose to take revenge, some people turn the other cheek. To each there own, just pick your battles, and let the punishment fit the crime.

umm previous posts aside for a minute s2s, has this stuff happened to you while you were in Columbus? I ask because I have gotten overall a much more positive response being a cyclist in Columbus as opposed to where I used to live (where the stuff you posted was much more expected) . But we are on the trails much more than the roads... Guess I just hope that stuff isn't too regular in my relatively new hometown.

All of it has happened in columbus. And I don't typically ride the trails.

or you could say they're trying to get cyclists off the road, with bike paths that go nowhere really, could get you a few blocks east of downtown, but bring you out on major throughways that even i am reluctant to ride on, let alone your typical bike commuter. Not to mention adding bike racks to the buses, which is convenient in a pinch, but to me it says "we're not gonna put in bike lanes on high street, in fact we'd rather you got off your bike and rode public transportation when heading that way."

John 8:1-11

1. But Jesus went to the mountain of Olives. 2. And early in the morning he again came to the temple, and all the people came to him; and sitting down, he taught them 3. And the scribes and Pharisees bring to him a woman caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst, 4. They say to him, Master, this woman was caught in the very act, while she was committing adultery. 5. Now in the law Moses commanded us to stone such persons; but what sayest thou? 6. Now they said this, trying him, that they might have ground for accusing him. But Jesus, casting down his eyes, 1 wrote with the finger on the ground. 7. And as they persisted in asking him, he lifted up his eyes, 2 and said to them, He who is without sin amongst you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9. And having heard that, and being reproved by their conscience, they went out one by one, beginning at the eldest even to the last; so that Jesus was left alone, and the woman who stood in the midst. 10. And Jesus, lifting up his eyes, having seen nobody but the woman, said to her, Woman, where are thy accusers? Hath no man condemned thee? 11. She said, No man, Lord. Jesus answered her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

So do we watch caddyshack or back to school as a eulogy?

as if that's a question...

Hardly. I think property values actually fell after we moved in.

Or as Chris Rock once said, "Oh no. Here comes the neighborhood."

this thread is great, i read the first 4 pages then skipped the rest.

ive been on many critical mass's here in the uk where cars almost run us over because we are making them 5 minutes late home.

cars continually almost run me down, and im pretty pissed off.
ive considered getting some paint stripper and going out one night...throw it on some SUV's....ha, that would be fun!

Dude, the cities I mentioned had VERY EXTREME increases in crime, comparable to DC, both with and without carry bans. You are simply making up a causal connection where one does not exist.

And yes, I too believe that people with "W" stickers on their vehicles are, for all practical purposes, DUMBASSES.
