Pads. Trust me I loathe that saddle on long rides even although it looks so cool.

Maybe tomorrow or during the weekend.

~~~~~~~On a side note, I just realized leader's frame sizing, TT height come short of other brands of the same size significantly when compared.
How come you need someone to ask you for your pictures? Why not just post them?
Also, yeah, it's well known that Leader frames have a shorter and longer TT.
Have you ever been in a doctorate teaching program? I went without eating the entire day yesterday. And my on campus apartment isn't exactly one of the things I'm proud of.
Haha sorry, I don't really understandddd..
scrod, not to get all weird but from what I can tell in some of your pics you've got a really nice house.
Scrodzilla 04-29-11 10:31 AM
What a weirdo! :lol:
Those pics of my 725 are actually taken in front of the little museum across the street from my house. Our place is really nice in a quirky, super old house near the ocean kind of way. I love it here, I just wish there were more happening fixed gear-wise.
As a sidenote - I really dig that you make handmade plugs. I may end up picking up some 7/16" stuff from you soon.
Leukybear 04-29-11 10:39 AM
Come to california if you want in on the action.
Scrodzilla 04-29-11 10:42 AM
That's the plan!
motobeCarnage 04-29-11 10:46 AM
it really looks like I place I would like to live in. Hardwood floors, lots of natural light it seems. It's hard to find that around here.
And that would be awesome, man. I was wondering if anyone around here was into piercings. I just got some gaboon ebony and I haven't had a chance to make anything yet.
Scrodzilla 04-29-11 10:59 AM
I'm not super into piercings and all that but my ears have been gauged for nearly 20 years. I love natural wood plugs and stuff.
+1 They are the only ones that I wear now... and I am in need of more... Thanks for the side note conversation about it!
Finished this yesterday - 722TS
Finally decided on the Leader after months of looking for frames with an $800 budget. I think the Leader is a very good frame for a lot less money. The 722's look fantastic in person. Pics don't do them justice.
What size did you end up with? Your seat is so low and so far forward it almost seems like the bike might be too big for you.
Looks great though! Maybe even some nice gumwalls would complete the brown+silver crank classic look.
Sebster 05-01-11 12:01 PM
pixies reference?
It's a 51. I'm still tweaking with the fit. I could lower the bars another 1.5 inches, but I like my bars around the same height as the saddle. The seat thing is just the odd combination of the Brooks saddle on a Thomson post. There's not much clamping space available on the saddle. I clamped the rails right in the centre of the accessible space. Even if I put the seat back all the way, I have less than 1cm available. Maybe a post with the clamping mechanism further back, rather than in line with the post, would look better..
calv 05-01-11 02:12 PM
Actually, I had the idea that that seatpost height was fine, actually?
Unfortunately, a Thomson post is the wrong choice for that saddle. What you need is a post with a lot of setback like the Velo Orange Grand Cru >>> http://store.velo-orange.com/index.p...g-setback.html
Leader's have a low top tube, so most of them have a lot of seatpost to make up the difference...
calv 05-01-11 04:06 PM
Indeed.. That would explain the saddle position..
Threw my 725 up on a scale this morning:
Not bad at all for a Leader with an Aerospoke.
Leukybear 05-02-11 02:48 PM
Hey you can't blame it; it's big boned. In a true sense! :lol:
I'm still waiting on one last part, but the 725 weights in at 18.82lbs, and the 722 at 19.53lbs
I did swap the rubber between the two. Just FYI: Ultra sport with tube = 440g Pro Race 2 with tube = 320g...
I also found it quite interesting that my hand built Novatec to Razors with DT Comp's (28/28 Road wheelset) weights in at 1920g with the cassette installed, VS the ROLF wheelset (Origin8 Track hub + DT Comp 20/24) with All-City Cog+Lockring comes in at 1910...
With rubber the track set comes in a hair under a half a pound more!
Leukybear 05-02-11 04:58 PM
Finally got around to taking the picture of the awesome vinyl I found that fits very well with leader's seattube cutout.
