very slick and great components all around
nice build!

EDIT: starting to really like the dropouts on these new leaders..

cc700 05-04-11 11:03 PM

i do NOT like fatlace stickers on bikes.

and scrod, i know the aerospoke is heavy but my bike has B43's and weighs 22 lbs. pretty sure my bike is made in the same factory looking at the seattubes...

otherwise, i pretty much think these bikes are pretty nice. nothing compared to this though:

Not bad at all for a Leader with an Aerospoke.

Thats the weight of my rims. :| I want aerospoke lol. No in honesty my front rim with racing tires weigh 4.5 pounds... Sigh, I'll be lighter with aerospokes.

Damn Scrod, you did it again!! Very nice build.

Unfortunately, a Thomson post is the wrong choice for that saddle. What you need is a post with a lot of setback like the Velo Orange Grand Cru >>> http://store.velo-orange.com/index.p...g-setback.html

Those seat posts are sweet, I love mine and so does my B17.

The newer Visps seem to be lighter than the older ones and I think the tubes may come from the same place.

A 'Spok is definitely heavier than a B43/Formula. I don't quite recall what it weighs - and I'm not pulling off my damn tire to find out - but I think it's around 5 lbs. My K170 chain weighs a full pound as well. I wasn't going for light, I was going for badass. Also - my frame's heading off to get powdercoated next week. :D

I've seen that Leader on PR. It's clean looking but the choice of parts on it makes me yawn.

Weren't satisfied with the matte black?

Scrodzilla 05-05-11 11:07 AM

Murdered-out isn't really my thang.

But rasta is; can't wait to see how you went through with rasta! kthanxbye.

gorillafist 05-06-11 10:46 AM

Here's the result of my build that some of you guys helped me out on this thread http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...t=leader+build Let me know what you think.

Waiting on a different seatpost, this one ended up being slightly too high for me hence the down angled saddle. The matte black attracts fingerprints like a mofo, tried wiping down with some glass and citrus cleaner but only helped a little. Any suggestions?

Holy hell that is nice.

Sebster 05-06-11 02:12 PM

really clean build!
1.) new saddle
2.) remove rear light (looks too clean to be a night cruiser, i could be wrong)
3.) brakeless! - to complete the look, a lot of people eventually reach this point even though bf'ers will tell you to hold on to that front brake with your life ;)

Thanks. Yes, I agree. As soon as I'm not broke :(

I don't like public transportation and I do have to ride at night. As far as a light is concerned though, I think it looks pretty good

That's the goal!:D Still not comfortable riding into Manhattan without one yet.

Sebster 05-06-11 10:02 PM

its kind of expected, but for aesthetic reasons and to keep those clean lines you have going, a white knog boomer?

cc700 05-06-11 10:53 PM

boomer ain't never gonna fit around that aero post. skink maybe, i'd keep it black.

also, vader seat. that seat looks ridiculous. needs a white slr or a white prologo, something super thin.

Sebster 05-07-11 01:25 AM

do you have any experience with vader?
they look really nice and great price, but no idea about them other than it takes forever to ship from hong kong
and a boomer could fit around the normal post diameter like he has his light now

iBgearLess 05-07-11 01:31 AM

Keep the brake!!

It that how it's supposed to look? Like someone bashed it all over with a ball-peen hammer and then ran over it with a bus?

It's kinda cool, actually.

Scrodzilla 05-07-11 07:29 AM

It's raw aluminum, yes.
