I obviously don't know how you feel when riding it but it looks good to me. :thumb:

dignandag 05-15-11 10:01 AM

Right on, Scrod...I appreciate your input!

I get a little obsessive with details and want to make sure I made the right choice.

Scrodzilla 05-15-11 10:15 AM

No prob. Your bike looks great BTW!

dignandag 05-15-11 10:45 AM

Thanks! Totally digging it

Ultraspontane 05-17-11 11:55 PM

Why are they called "Aerospoke" when they are less aero than traditional wheels?

Scrodzilla 05-18-11 05:23 AM

Why is my saddle called a "Turbo" when it has nothing to do with gas compression powered by a turbine?

Dude, it's a name. In case you haven't noticed, all products have them.

TejanoTrackie 05-18-11 06:44 AM

Why do you call yourself Scrod when you're not a fish?

Ultraspontane 05-18-11 11:21 AM

They should be "Stongspoke", "Heavyspoke" or "Trendyspoke". "Aerospoke" implies that they are aerodynamic.

soyboy 05-18-11 11:35 AM

the the windsor "the hour" is misleading because noone's attempted the hour on it, and the the kilo TT is misleading because it's not a time trial bike, the trek soho and giant bowery are BS because you can ride them anywhere, the whole bike industry is full or lies and misdirection....

Wrong. Plenty of people have managed to ride for an hour on a Windsor Hour.

We all thank you for your input. Have you ever ridden on one or are you just blabbing like you usually do?

nope, the welds on the frame melt after 55minutes of riding in the sun, it's impossible

Ultraspontane 05-18-11 04:56 PM

Jeez, why you all so sensitive? God forbid someone say anything other than "sup, s1ck whip br0". It's just a wheel. Plus I was going to make fun of you for riding brakeless or taking myspace-esque pictures of yourself for your avy, but that is too easy. It's all in good fun.

Naming that wheel "Aerospoke" is odd. That's all.

Scrodzilla 05-18-11 04:57 PM

Yes, we heard you. Have you ever owned/ridden one?

Please don't make fun of my lack of brakes. I don't feel like crying again today.

Ultraspontane 05-18-11 04:59 PM

I used one as a boat anchor once.

They do look cool, though.

Scrodzilla 05-18-11 05:00 PM

That mustn't have worked out very well because Aerospokes float.

Again, you've most likely never even seen one in real life. Please show us some proof that an Aerospoke's design isn't aerodynamic.

Leukybear 05-18-11 05:06 PM

Ultraspontane I would your nautical input on hed 3's.

TejanoTrackie 05-18-11 05:11 PM

It's a classic case of Aerospoke envy. :p

longjohns 05-18-11 05:42 PM

After switching from two u-locks to a mini-u and NY chain I see the advantage of an aerospoke up front. Lacing a chain through 36 spokes is not cool.

Kayce 05-18-11 05:47 PM

According to manufacturer data, the drag is pretty high on the aerospoke, compared to a lots of deep profile higher end spoked wheels, carbon "spoked wheels" and even some lower profile wheels like the Campy Vento. Wherever this data came from did not include a generic low profile spoked wheel though.

Scrodzilla 05-18-11 05:51 PM

It's funny...I wasn't really sure how much I'd like the Aerospoke but I absolutely love it. It weighs about 4 lbs, 6 oz with a 25c Scwalbe Durano Plus mounted and coupled with my carbon fork, does a great job of absorbing a lot of road vibration. Plus, it makes a cool sound when I'm hauling ass.

See, i have a problem with this..
From the last few months i've spent on the site and been on many car forums where all they do is rub your balls and say "sweet ride bro, ZOMG awesome stretch, blah blah" i can say this place is no where near like that. It's actually quite the opposite.
If anything i've seen more people get flack for running a spoke than for not running one, Scrod is just too godly for that.

(kidding).
