Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Undoubtedly reduces weight some, although the other closeups of the frame show a fair amount of thickness to the walls (what's left of them). The interesting study would be the weight saving versus increased air resistance.

I would be shocked if that frame was anything less than three times heavier than a frame made from quality steel tubing.

His box truss things look to have at least 1/16" wall thickness, compared to decent butted tubes which are 1/2 of that at their thickest.

I'm surprised the weight isn't listed anywhere. It's probably 20+ lbs

I'd guess 10+ lbs for the frame alone.

If you're going through the bother of making a truss frame, wouldn't it make sense to use a truss design?
