I have a pair of Alex DH19 rims that came stock on my Redline Monocog 29er. I have about 8000 miles (or more) on them with no trouble, aside from requiring a minor re-truing during the first tune-up. Based on the indicator line, I would estimate that the front rim has been worn no more than half way through its serviceable life by the rim brakes.
I have been very satisfied with the rims, but not so impressed that I won't consider other models when the time comes to replace them.

I have alex rims on my commuter road bike, They are da22 alexrims with forumla road hubs.
They are solid and sturdy. And definitely great for the price, As long as you didn't pay to much.

I wish I could say that about my current wheels, I'm hoping to get that much and more on my new wheels when I get them. I bought my current wheels used from a friend who tricked on them and I've put on about 500 miles on them since I got them and they seriously need to be trued and tensioned.

Coming out of true has more to do with the quality of the build than the rim itself.
I've sacrificed a number of Alex rims to winter commuting, they've all been fine until the road grit has ground the brake tracks away.
