I like beards.

I was up till 5:20am yesterday looking at high-end cranks, thinking about how I shouldn't spend $200 on something I don't technically need. Now I am looking at clothes and will probably spend the same amount on something else I don't need. -__-

I have 46-22 gearing on my fixie

I just switched to 46-19. Now people pass me on the flats, but I try not to care. I need to get in condition.

Hairnets interest in my beard makes me uncomfortable.
I mashed through Griffith Park with nothing but ambient light while tipsy. It was only because we heard noises coming from the bushes and got nervous.
I don't have the will power to make myself ride a bike first thing in the morning. I wish my car was still broken :(

I'd do 46x19 again if I had the chain ring or 20t cog. That is a good traffic riding ratio

Man, I know people who have been chased by coyotes in Griffith Park at night (I was almost as chased in the hollywood hills). What will power? Riding in the morning is the best way to wake up before work/school.

I rode first thing in the morning once, without eating any breakfast, and had an early dinner the night before, so I basically had no energy. I started getting light headed, went home, and passed out on the garage floor. Scared the crap out of me.

Stupid on my part, lol.

why?

-I like to go right when the light turns green so I could stop red light runners at their tracks, and then slow down just to irritate them

-I skid when a hot girl is looking, otherwise, I just use my brake

-I'm afraid to take my brake off, even if I don't use it.

I like to think riding bikes is impressive to chicks, even though I know it's not true.

I haven't rode in 38 days and likely won't until mid june due to suffering through a dvt(blood clot).

By making the DVD, they proved themselves lawless individuals with an unbelievable amount of urban cycling skill.

By doing the Tour of California, they proved themselves as the same punks, but with real road cycling endurance and skill as well.

They have a polarized response, which demonstrates that however you feel about them, they are doing something big.

I wish you were talking about M*A*S*H.

Yeah I don't get the hate for MASH. Typical hipster response to any artist/group becoming successful.

I just rewatched some MASH stuff. I hate on the commercial aspects, and their hyped up equipment but damn they can ride.

You make a good point; luckily the movie was made before they were pb&j with cinelli & etc.... their individualized bikes were a major part of their movie IMO, now there's not much difference since they're all on cinellis now...BORING especially when you personally have one and a bunch of peeps around you ride them aswell.

I dig it because everyone is just laughing and having a great time. Emi Brown cruising with a Heineken mini keg and the part at the end where Lance looks like he's learning to skid are pretty funny. Also, the fact that Lance isn't using a monster gear ratio and still hauling that much ass is rad.

Yup! you are right. I think they are a bit over rated. Besides when they bomb hills, then, they definitely make a point of the need of brakes.

I just like watching videos of people riding, especially because it's been too windy for an enjoyable ride for the past couple of weeks. The MASH/Macaframa/etc people put out some cool videos. Heck, I'd watch a video of myself riding if someone would film me. Haha.

A guy that rides totally gets extra cute points over a guy that doesn't.
I don't have a ss/fg (yet; working on it) but this is the only forum I've hung out in since registering.
I hope to test ride a fixed gear soon and I'm terrified I will crash and kill myself and/or the bike during the test ride.
I'm totally a hipster. Only thing that makes me self-conscious about it is I'm probably too old for it. Whatevs.
I called in sick because I'm hungover today.

It's my favorite video as well. It's also why I want to pick up some Moustache Bars. The video makes me really want to ride a bike and ride twice as hard as I normally do, go bomb some hills and cut traffic just because the adrenaline spike is fun :P

All of the videos just make me see a level above where I ride now, with or without the risks I could be spinning a lot faster and I could be pushing myself a lot harder.
