Why thank you.

yummygooey 02-23-13 12:27 PM

i weigh 150 lbs and i suck at climbing

Nagrom_ 02-23-13 12:32 PM

I wish I was 150, but with the same muscle mass. Lol.

That'd be cool. Then I'd be TMonk basically.

TMonk 02-23-13 02:06 PM

that's what you'd think, but I usually carry about 5-6 lbs of beer and pizza fat on me at any given time. I've been as light as 145 with the same power but it just takes too much discipline to get there; ill take those extra few lbs and enjoy my life thank you very much.

I do too, compared to the guys I race with...
I can kick some ass up short (under 2 min or so) punchy climbs but if you put me in a cat3 RR with a real mountain I am NOT going to be a contender for the win.

TMonk 02-23-13 02:09 PM

Oh, and today im ****ed up sore and worn out.

Usual saturday: Ride to and from the group hammer ride (SDBC A this weekend just to do something different), lots of work on the front, let myself slide back on climbs a little bit to recover so I could keep pulling afterwards. Net about 3.5 hrs.

I'm def. more worn out than I should be. Something's up. Didn't drink heavy last night (only 2 pints), not at the end of a training block, hmmm.
I had a tummy ache this morning and almost bailed on the ride plans; prob should have. Maybe im fighting something off.

Now its time to smoke some dope, eat, shower, stretch and then nap if I don't feel any bttr.

Mumonkan 02-23-13 02:16 PM

i just listened to my dad flip out on my landlord and her fiance (who is my uncle) about the hot water and heat, which eventually devolved into an argument about how shes selling the house

my dads been telling me some bs about how shes gonna convert the downstairs into another apartment and rent it out and keep the house for almost a year now

and he always says how whenever they come over here they just start flipping out on him to move out, yet the conversation i hear is her explaining the situation normally and him going crazy on her because hes pissed off

FML.

Euro pro swag.

I know every street listed there. Should've been a casual ride.
You theoretically passed my bay area digs. :)

Muffin Man 02-23-13 02:37 PM

SpeshulEd 02-23-13 03:10 PM

I passed a roadie on a climb this morning...he promptly whizzed by me on the descent tho.

Still, 18t cog ftw!

RGNY 02-23-13 03:22 PM

today i watched a teen on a mountain bike, riding against traffic, 1/2 way out in the lane, with his hood up, swerving back and forth, looking at his phone, stop in the middle of a four way intersection and start texting.

cars started honking. he looked up, gave them all the finger and went back to texting. cars started taking turns going around him.

whoa.

TMonk 02-23-13 03:38 PM

gangsta.

Actual quote when I met my GF's female co-workers: "Awwww. You already look like you are from Portland with your Ray Ban eyeglasses and your wet North Face jacket!"

I would swear that *everyone* in Portland has a bicycle and 1/2 of them ride them daily.

I used to deliver at 9th & Stephens, just east of the 5 off of the OMSI exit. Empty streets until 6:30AM. There were no parking meters, everyone filled the streets with parallel parking. They would take take their bikes out of their car to go the mile or so west to downtown. Saves monthly parking fees.

There may be a lot of bikes, but a lot of them don't go far.

Ha!

My GF's father (in his 60s) has a car and 3 motorcycles and he rides his bike about 7-10 miles to work daily rain or shine.

Dannihilator 02-23-13 06:01 PM

Today I put in a fun, but soggy 50 miles.

cali_axela 02-23-13 06:20 PM

Today I completed my third Cat 5 road race, also about 50 miles. Got dropped again, but not as badly as the last one. The year is young, just gotta keep riding.

skielbasa 02-23-13 06:37 PM

Today I trued a set of wheels for the first time, at first I made them worse. They're still not perfect but they are better than before.
