Today I had a stellar road ride and have started the process of a new wheelset for the 930.

Today I sold the big screen tv I won in a raffle yesterday to buy some omniums from my friend for $150. Now I have to choose to save the rest or buy road pedals and shoes. God I wish I was better at saving money

Today I rode my fixed bike for the first time in a while. Did a little alleycat. Finished 5th out of 5. Didn't ride very hard, had fun.

I can do it with either foot but I must have the wheel turned right. It gets weird left foot/wheel right.
I rode Avner's Trek. Now I want an aluminum track frame

The deposit is ridiculous; it's $350k + membership dues; that's the amount of some people's houses! I could join but unfortunately me and my wife cannot justify the price tag while I am working on my doctorate and she has 2 jobs (they're both white collar and the other is her passion and has a varied schedule [modeling!]). Like I said above, I'll just wait for our old folks to join and muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch.

Trust me, it gets old really quick when riding it on the street; especially if you're coming from steel..

Man don't judge. That depends entirely on the job he has (although he did say he has a desk, who knows what he's doing).
I don't think the dishwashers at work would be able to stay sane if they weren't perpetually stoned, and they're some of the hardest working, most competent people I know.
Speaking of which, a 350k charge to join a country club? What?
I thought the one I work at was expensive.

It's true for family membership; individual is cheaper through; still in 100k digits through with deposit... it's expensive because of the deposit, they use the deposit to leech interest from hedge funds.
Aha I rather keep it in my nest egg (aka rainy day fund). And I'm pretty sure earned HED 3's ride much better and faster than those given.

Today, (more like yesterday but didn't post it until today) I finished my buddies road bike build. Went for a short 10 miles and went to the bar. Good times, and his bike rides so nice

Then how would I ride my roadie? I only have one freewheel cassette rear wheel here
In a month or two once I get reunited with my mkII one way or another, me or my wife going back home to retrieve it, I only have an undeserving iphone camera and webcam, believe me the true irony is when you have a bunch of your L lenses here and no body to use them with.
Anyhow I'm pretty excited about the rumors of next - gen '12 canon bodies are going to have OLED screens!

17.5mph average today. Raced the rain on the way home and arrived just as hail started falling on my car.

today I'm realizing how it's tougher for me to enjoy my aluminum frame vs my steel. I've been on the 725 for a bit since it was the shiny new toy and the problems I previously posted about with my soma, but now that I've got it back in order I just love the feel of steel on the road so much. I don't know if I should chalk it up to aluminum or the long TT, or just not being comfortable with it yet, but I'm finding myself grabbing the soma off the wall more and more lately, despite it being the cheaper build with the steel fork and heavy wheels

When I do get the hang of it I won't have to pedal an extra 3' forward if I get to a stoplight on the wrong foot.
