Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

i dont remember exactly, but it was mostly 35th > coolidge > monterey blvd. > lincoln > joaquin miller rd > butters drive (beautiful!) > skyline blvd, after which i went to the ranger station to refill up on water. then back up to chabot.

Today I replaced my front end. Fork, headset, stem, bars, grips + cantilever brakes. Old parts of a free '90s diamondback mtn bike. Totally screwed up my color scheme, but its worth it for the brake.

Bikes: Mercier Kilo TT Stripper in RAW, Schwinn Madison 2008 Blue, Leader 725tr, Brassknuckle, Leader 722, Traitor Ruben

Today I:

...am in need of a 10 speed chain, chain whip, set of handlebars, and a shifter cable and then the 722's transformation will be complete. Tho, it isn't as much of a transformation as I had hoped, it still will be good.

On that same note, why is it I have no friends that I can hang with that own chain whips? Maybe for christmas I'll ask for a proper set of tools (then again, I have almost everything I need...bought individually without thinking of course)

in 4 pics plz

Today I htfu'd and went for a ride regardless of the weather. While locking up I ran into (figuratively) another fixed gear! I know for most of you this is nothing out of the ordinary but I have literally only seen about 4 other fixed gear bikes all summer. Does this kilo belong to anyone on here?

I walked into a shop that never responded to my application. Now, I might become the dedicated bicycle assembly guy. I don't know whether to be happy or sad, but it's a job. Volunteer work at the co-op = good experience FTW!!

I'll have an income soon and taxes

Bikes: EAI Toyo Gojira (Godzilla)

Today I went out to brunch and had my Godzilla locked up near me on the patio. Some chick saw it and went CRAZY about it. "Oh, my, GOD, that is the COOLEST bike I've ever seen! It's so sparkly! I want it to be MINE!" Hahaha. I was blushing. She didn't even notice my boyfriend's Mash right next to it

Nice, sounds like fun! I would love to get paid to part-time assemble bikes.

You'll probably get most of it back, dude. I fully expect to have enough taxes returned to me come that time of the year to buy a (road) bike. The joys of being a limited income student...

I seem to easily get my lefts and rights mixed up... I once said on your right, and someone was very confused. Luckily for me, there hasn't been any accidents.
