The Browning felt great though. Big gun for a big guy.

What do you have chambered for .44 mag. Some sort of single action I imagine. Blackhawk maybe?

Spot on. It's a 10.5" Blackhawk.

I have a couple boxes of Speer soft points. 270gr. It's a hunting round, so it's a pretty heavy load. I probably still have half a box of 44 specials too. Haven't opened the safe in a while.

Today I used 409 as laundry detergent. Seems like it made colors run a bit...

My dad has a .44 magnum too, I will give it a try next time. I did fire a .45 Glock today and I couldn't even hit the target.

They are a lot of fun. If possible start out with some 44 special loads in it to get the feel for the recoil before stepping it up to the heavy stuff. Have fun.

Today I rode fast and turned left.

In one race, I rode faster and turned left better than the other dudes. Pretty stoked about that.

Today I had a job interview. I think it went really well because I was there for an hour an got a good rapport going with my interviewers. *fingers crossed*

big fan of .357 mag, have a sw snub large frame that i love.

mmmm .45 so easy to shoot lol feels so soft with a kick compared to shooting a 9mm hp which to me feels sharp and annoying, i do own a 9mm though... a hk p7, such a sexy pistol.

my g23 is my favorite though, was my carry piece for a long time. aftermarket tungsten guide rod and trigger assembly..

bout time i saw some gun talk in here!

Replace rode with drove and you just quoted every post race interview done by a NASCAR driver. They turn left real good.

Seems so

from what I can recall, the shotgun would kick straigh back while the rifle recoil would jerk me a bit and move the barrel up. Maybe having the shotgun already aiming up reduced that upward recoil.

I'd think the shotgun recall would be the worse of the two. As far as I know the AR-15 has the same construction as an M-16, which has a recoil spring in the stock. It should have less kick than a standard .22 rifle. I was a Marine, so I'm familiar with all of the above.

.45 is a low velcity round, they are notoriously inaccurate. It's one of the reasons the military switched to 9mm pistols. I was in one of the last training platoons to use the colt 45. One of our drill instructors told us beyond 100 feet we were better off throwing rocks at the enemy rather than trying to hit them with a colt.

That being said, the .45 has alot more 'stopping power' than a 9mm, which is a high velocity round, and is known for producing what is called a "through and through wound". Goes in the front, comes out the back. Getting hit with a .45 round on the other hand is more like getting hit with a manhole cover, it's going to drop you on the spot. Better for close quarters.

The Marine Corps pilots I knew tended to carry neither when they were flying combat missions. Most carried a .357 in a shoulder holster, loaded with hollow point rounds. More accurate than a .45, more stopping power than a 9mm.

Today I saw a bear riding a bicycle maul a monkey, who was also riding a bicycle. Like bears weren't terrifying enough already. Now they can chase you on bikes.

Most exciting pursuit race I've ever seen.

Way to close the gap.

I want hills. Louisiana is too flat.

This ride: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/1564562 is only about a 3 hour drive from my house, so I might try to get a couple people to go with me. I think I might explode 5 miles in.

That video upsets me.

I just found out that my bosses boss was fired today without notice. Too bad, he was a good guy, maybe a little too laid back. I'm now the only guy working in an office of 7 people.

Which is defnitely not the case with the Monkey.

Before anyone judges the bear too harshly, just remember there may have been a history between the two. It totally looked like the monkey cut into the bears line, probably not for the first time.
