My tires sure were, dug out like 4 pieces of glass.

Also, switched from 48x19 to 48x17 because I'm tired of spinning so hard on descents.

Man, that pisses me off. Although, that random passerby rules when he pulls over, insists that they can't restrain the cyclist, and tries to pull him out of the group.

hank0604 05-10-13 08:11 AM

I couldn't believe the driver accused him of riding in the middle of the street. The whole time I was watching I was thinking "he is riding way too close to the door zone, he needs to move left a bit."

hank0604 05-10-13 08:12 AM

And also, I put up with my fair share of grief from drivers, and I usually do it with a smile and a wave, but if you stop your car and get out of it, well, then...

Mumonkan 05-10-13 08:16 AM

all im gonna say is if youve ever been to borough park brooklyn (which this looks like) you would understand that this is to be expected

Is it just culture shock for the Hasidic community, or do they just generally hate bicycles/fun?

its a lot more complicated than that and has nothing to do with bicycles, but im not gonna start a religious squall in here cuz thats the last thing we need

yummygooey 05-10-13 08:28 AM

cool minivan tho

OneGoodLeg 05-10-13 09:27 AM

Can't see the vid. My internet connection has been wonky all day.

This morning I decided to take an extended ride before work, through a richy, rich area just south of Boston. I saw the ugliest Bentley on the road. The sides were black, the trunk, hood, and roof were bright yellow. In the words of a co-worker who rode with me, "looks like a bumble bee's worst nightmare".

Good idea. :)

Today I: announced my club's first run of kit. Feelsgoodman.jpg

edit: The green lines on the jersey will wrap all the way around, like shown on the vest.

Nagrom_ 05-10-13 10:07 AM

So many ****ing minivans in that video. Holy ****.

Rode a geared road bike for the first time in ... ever. Seriously. So many holes in my cadence. I'm really bad at this.

what do you mean by this? If anything riding SS/FG should give you a wider cadence band (ex: 50-150rpm) .... the whole point of gears is that you can stay in a small cadence band for your whole ride (90 plus or minus 5 rpm for me)

He's probably referring to dead spots.

TMonk 05-10-13 10:22 AM

oic

Wendell F 05-10-13 10:23 AM

I meant the rhythm. Without the inertia from the rear wheel helping the crank along I notice how uneven my stroke is.

This.

Muffin Man 05-10-13 10:32 AM

Maybe he's talking about the dead spot at 12 and 6 o clock?

This morning I called my Mom to ask if she received her Mother's Day/Birthday gift. Nope. So I check the tracking - sent it to her old address by accident. $65 worth of fancy ice cream down the tubes. I'm an idiot. Not a good Friday.
