That's good. I'm glad you didn't have to buy a new rim.

I know! Especially because I'm most likely going to be selling the wheel soon.

Oh...BTW, I just rode to the mailbox to drop my rent check. Does that make me a courier of some sort?

You are only a courier if you do things for other people. If it was Angie's check then yes, you are a courier.

Welcome to the club. :D

You say that axiomatically.
But that's just bad luck. Bad because you've never learned right.

Never learned right? What in the hell does that mean?

And today I had some ******** drive past and throw change at me. Not once. Not twice. Three times. On the last one I just started sprinting all out after them. Almost had em too, until they blew a stop sign and started going over the speed limit to get away. The first two times I was with the lady too. Thats what really pissed me off.

Today I did a quick 15 mile ride across the gw bridge and back. Spotted a histogram mash while on the bridge. Anyone ride their mash across the bridge today?

Today I went to San Francisco and returned my Chrome shoes and Mission Workshop Sanction.

They both have awesome stores, and awesome people working there. Chrome gave me a huge discount on all purchases for the day (I got an "artist series" shirt), and a free beanie! Mission Workshop was nice as well! I got a look at their messenger, really thinking about picking one up sometime.

The real "news" is that I learned the Chrome store in SF will custom make you a bag with whatever colors you want, even sewing in patches for you :D Custom bags aren't a feature on their website, right? Is this exclusive to the retail store?

Lol, just saw the Chrome shoes are 10 and 10 1/2... sigh.

KBlas 09-04-11 04:26 PM

...bought my son, and eight year old nephew, bikes. I forgot how hard it is to teach someone to ride.

I would think it is. Timbuk2 has a similar deal where if you go in to the store and order a custom bag before noon you can get it the same day. (They have custom bags on there website too). I didn't know Chrome did that, they don't do it online.

Just find a grassy hill and push them down... after a few trips and falls they will figure out how to ride.

At least... this is how my brother taught me how to ride, and crash.

Today I rode my "townie" bike and ran an errand and ran into my cousin, old high school friend and my good friend and her daughter in a span of 20 minutes haha.

And right now watching No Country for Old Men.

Today I bought a Bell wireless bike computer for the Earl. $20 at Target. I'm curious to see how well it will hold up compared to my $60 Cateye on the Cannondale. It should be fine.

Got my foot stuck in a 'toeverlap' turn coming off the Williamsburg bridge. Fell over and ate it in front of a cute girl on a Vespa. That was awesome.

Today I went for a ride with my wife's gdi2; 48cm is way to small for me; was half way on my usual route back home and I had to turn around as I couldn't stand the crampness anymore. Along the ride I noticed many things changed since the last time I was here in the bay area; the most cool imo was the county swapped out all streetlamps with LED versions.

On another note I'm totally stoked that my wife totally helped me score a $5000 vacuum tube amplifier (a mcintosh mc275) for free today. Apparently the original owner accidentally had something heavy fall on it with the protective cage on and completely broke off one and cracked one of the large vacuum tubes and 2 of the smaller ones at the socket; thought it was toast and put it outside in hopes someone can make use of it/ cannibalize it. My wife sent me pictures and it's a shame the original owner doesn't know the carrot trick to remove bulbs from sockets... I sure feel lucky that I fitted my porteur rack to her via condotti otherwise she wouldn't have had a chance lugging that 50lbs brick back home. She added that she totally looked like a hipster with that thing tied down in front of her!
