Das Stig 09-16-11 04:30 PM

went for a ride during my lunch hour today. nice and cool, great riding weather but a bit windy. Still in the afterglow of having my face melted at Phish on wednesday!

homebrewk 09-16-11 05:16 PM

Today I bought a premium membership.

He he he.

Today, I took off the the All City double clips that I got with my Concept, put on my MKS GR9's single clips and double brev straps.

Anyone else use double straps, but only in single clips? I did this to avoid toe overlap completely. Works nicely

Scrodzilla 09-16-11 06:27 PM

Angie runs doubles/single clips without any issues.

xavier853 09-16-11 06:32 PM

sweet. didn't expect there to be problems.

Also, its a good thing I got these new straps. My old ones were just about done, ready to break from stress. Run through a few.

Hopefully these, last.

Today I:

Rebuild the 722-RS and took it in to the LBS for a free tune up. Getting ready to sell it. You mention GR9's...I rode for the first time in awhile without clips and I kept lifting my foot on the upstroke... Sucks to ride without clips!

Street rider 09-16-11 06:52 PM

Today I got my replacement crank arm, threw it on, and am still having popping/creaking/stress sounds. I also tore apart and rebuilt my hubs. Much needed.

Dannihilator 09-16-11 06:56 PM

Today I disassembled the 930 in preparation for it's next phase in it's life, and put the bianchi back together.

RGNY 09-16-11 07:50 PM

unboxed the Fuji League (the red is not so horrible in person) and laid out the parts for the build tomorrow. then had a nice big glass of locally produced absinthe.

Today I (finally) finished building my new wheels and went for a long ride. I'm in love.

I bought Cinelli Vai Palm road bars from someone last night. Didn't have bar tape so today i rode in with bars untaped. Of course it was one of the first cold mornings since spring, so that was awesome.

The Vai Palms are also my first set of drops, after switching between bullhorns and risers. The flats are super comfy and the drops are shallow enough to not be rocking 'knees to nips'. Pics to follow, but i feel like the road bars are the first step in the de-tarcking process.

PS - rode home with bars newly wrapped in black perforated Fizik Microtex. These things just got a lot cooler.

Today I decided to cut my steerer tube. The part I thought might be hardest--pounding that damn star nut in--was the easiest. Why?

I get a few turns in with my pipe cutter and BAM my pipe cutter explodes.

Worst part? I can't get my spacers/stem back on, so it's presently unrideable.

Should I just take it to the hacksaw and clean up the mess with a file? Or risk another pipe cutter?

Tonight I made 350 people dinner,.had a dishwasher walk out, and drank half of a fifth of Maker's Mark.
